Experienced guys filled me in. I see a few options. Magpul 10rd, steel etc

What the best 10rds
What is best brand of Beowulf? I see 5/10 5/7 and others. I'd rather longer but obviously proper function with 14

could be better if you had specified for what kind of gun ....

I saw the atrs. I like the style and the maple leaf and the Alberta on them. Definitely in my list to pick up. I see hexmags for 16 cad in irunguns maybe couple of those just to be fancy lol

I prefer metal mags as I find they stand up to abuse better.

At least once a match I see plastic mags (whether Magpul, IWI, ATRS, Troy or PCV) jam when struck hard to seat. This causes them to go in too deep, and cause a hard stoppage. Yes, this is user error, but doesn't happen with metal.

For LAR15 (10 round pistol mags) I prefer the C-Prod. For Beowulf mags I prefer Alexander Arms 5/10 mags as they are the same length as regular cap mags. I usually have one or two 5/7s for shooting prone.

That said, my brother picked up a few of the crimped 5/7 CPD Beowulf mags Bullseye had, and they run fine.

By all means, but note that all of them like pmags will be pinned to 5.

They look great in pics, but once you have invested in a dozen .50 beo mags you won't need any others.

Yeah I hear you there. I have some pmags already and the hexmags would be more fancy over function. They are pretty cheap at 12 usd Thanks for all the info I can shop smarter now

Am I mistaken or have I seen 10rd pmags a as well?

Magpul makes 10rd pmags but in Canada these must be pinned to 5, just like their 30 round versions. That's the law because magpul doesn't make pistol mags.

LAR mags are pistol mags so they can legally hold 10 rounds.

Beowulf mags are pinned to only hold 5 rounds of 50 Beo because they are designed for 50 Beo rifles....or more accurately, they may be pinned so as not to hold 6 rounds of 50 Beo. Because some 50 Beo mags that hold less than 6 rounds of 50 Beo will reliably feed 223, some shooters choose these mags. If you are considering Beo mags, my advice would be to bite the bullet and buy AA ones...they seem to function more reliably than others and their legality is somewhat less ambiguous.

Great that's what I was wondering. Specific brand for the beo and best 10 rounders was exactly what I was after. All good info thanks guys

I've actually found true 10rd pmags. Are these new? 22 bucks at site sponsor. Magpul 559. These are under the rifle magazine category and I do not know if they say pistol. Since they are for sale in alberta they are good to go I'm guessing or they wouldn't have them. 5.56 x45

For 5 round metal mags.......E-lander

For 10 round mags......ATRS 10 rounders.

That being said, we had a student yesterday with a bad batch of the ATRS mags. The follower seemed to be out of spec when compared to mine.

The ATRS pistol mags are awesome. Haven't had any feeding issues with any of mine. Two of them don't drop free all the time but I can live with that and they seem very durable...more so than my magpul pmags even.

You've seen them or you've found a link to them on a site sponsor website? Website descriptions on gun store websites are not always accurate - I'd put money on the fact that these may be 10 round pmags but they will be pinned to 5. Just like lots of Canadian websites list 30rd pmags but they are pinned to 5. Many websites list mags as 30/5 which lets the buyer know it is a 30 rd size but is pinned to 5 as per our Canadian laws.

If magpul did make a pistol mag that could legally hold 10 rounds in Canada, it would be front page news for CGN and the Black and Green Rifle section for sure but sadly this isn't the case.

ATRS mags are great, they're a good length, well made, have a maple leaf on them and the word Pistol embossed into them - unlike the silk screening on some mags. There is no question what they are made for.
