2016 Canadian IPSC Nationals

Flights and hotels doesn't change, but for everyone car pulling from hotels to the range it would be useful to know if people who travel together are actually shooting on the same schedule or need to find some alternative ride.

Unless, of course, match would provide a shuttle service, at least from match hotel to the range and back for several times a day, so competitors won't have to worry about the schedule.

That makes sense.

I still dont think it would matter, shooting or working you still need to be there regardless.

You only shooting half of the day. No point to be there from morning to sunset. Besides, I won't be able to be there, if my buddy would take car to go to Peggy's Cove while he is not shooting or working.

July 28th to July 30th- Main Match
Squad Schedule to be posted July 20, 2016. All competitors will be shooting two days and assisting one day. Plan to be at the range all three days.

just FYI....If anyone is looking for a hotel room outside of the Halifax area...the NEW Hampton Inn in Truro is now open. $120 per night...free hot breakfast included. It is (on the website...use the google) noted to be 40 minutes from the airport....which is another 8 minutes or so from the range....depending on driving styles...
this hotel opened approx. 3 weeks ago.

Wow, not having been in IPSC for 20 years, I am amazed at how many are in the 'Production Class'. Almost a third of all competitors! This is nice to see, and will make me more looking forward to getting back into it!

I don't know if this is the same everywhere, but production is half the entries at most matches. It's only less at nationals because of the teams.

Apparently, more than one shooter (non-open div) have been bumped up into OPEN cause the started next stage with a mag in their front pocket....IF... IF that mag was empty and not even one round in it, I don't think the normal rule of ammo/equipment being behind the hip bone should apply, cause it's not really ammo/useabe equipment at that point and only a metal object..... If no ammo in that mag, I believe it's TOTALLY B.S. CALL !!!!!!!

I'd hope, before match is officially over and final, the MD and RM should discuss this and make an official ruling and if side with what I've said above, then put shooters in their respective divisions !!

That's odd....unless the mag was in the front pocket the whole time? Allied equipment doesn't depend on it being loaded with rounds as far as I'm aware.

If competitor in Standard or Production division retrieves a magazine from their front pocket after the “Load and Make Ready” command will they automatically be moved into Open Division?
No, a competitor will not be moved into open division under theses circumstances. When the timer starts the competitors equipment must comply with division rules and regulations.

the match was meh, honestly disappointed in it, there were a couple outstanding stages but the rest, I don't know maybe it's just being spoiled by the matches I've been at recently. I am of course even more disugsted in my shooting. But I will say I've never been to a match with such aggessive and bullying CROs and ROs, making stuff up on the fly and being nasty to shooters. Absolutely disgusting behavior from some of them, and the RM as well. Too many things to document here. I'm buddies with the MD and don't want to throw all this at his feet.
I also had to DQ a friend of mine after he swept himself going prone, I didn't like doing that, but we hugged afterwards, was his second to last bay too. he only had 4 stages left to shoot.
