I just installed the Cajun Gunworks Race Hammer and Adjustable Sear Kit and I seem to be getting worse results than expected. The pre install trigger pulls in SA were 3lbs 2 oz and after the installation the trigger pulls in SA are now 3lbs 8oz. Everything seems to be working correctly but I have not taken it to the range to test it all out. I am a little disappointed with the results. Did I miss something? Has anyone else had similar issues?

I'd try running a couple of hundred rounds through the system, then take another measurement. You may need to wear in the components a bit.

I run similar components, albeit not CGW... It took a couple of sets or range trips until things smoothed out. Now my CZ runs like an expensive watch.

Now if I can only figure out how to remedy the issue with these stupid "thin safeties"...why everyone wants them, is beyond me?!!!

Thats what I was wondering re: wear in time. I didn't try to polish the hammer/sear set as they claim to be a "drop in high performance" setup. I was just concerned that I might have missed something.
 
If you already had a 13# mainspring installed, the old one may have fatigued/lost some of its rating and the new fresh one might account for some difference. Other than that, I'd agree with the thought that parts need to get acquainted a bit. How did you come by the CGW parts? Are they shipping to Canada again, or is a reseller up here bringing them in? Thx!
 
I know a number of people who have not had good luck with the adjustable sear and hammer setup. As it's not PD legal I don't run it. but with factory parts including a factory 11lb hammer spring I am under 2lbs for SA with my match gun

The small safeties in the 75 Shadowline and the SP-01 Shadowline are there because the guns are purpose built for either IDPA SSP Division in the case of the 75 and IPSC Production in the case of SP-01 Shadowline. In both cases you almost never use the safeties as both divisions start hammer down.

I hate to run off topic but what's so bad about the thin safeties? I was considering them on my gun...
 
As a someone who enjoys learning by tinkering, I bought the 13 lb main spring, SS guide rod/buffer and a lighter firing pin spring from Dlask and had a nice conversation with Leigh about how to lighten up the trigger (He basically said that I should let them do it as its easy to screw up). After completing the spring installation and a bit of polishing, which took way longer than expected, I am wondering if I should have picked up an 11 lb spring instead as the firing pin keeps getting jammed out (fully extended out). I put the stock firing pin spring back in to take to the range. I put 200 rounds thru it today and it felt similar (I am pretty new to shooting) to the stock Sp01 Shadow my wife has. I remeasured the trigger pull weight and there was no change. I can always take it to Dlask but I would like to figure this out myself, with support from people who have gone thru similar upgrades. I was able to get the CGW parts from a friend who shoots in the US.

I guess I should've been more specific... My CZ Shadowline has been converted to SAO. In this case, when starting in the ESP Div., the safety must be engaged.

The smaller safety makes it more difficult to disengage the safety (maybe it's because I have smaller hands). I have plans to switch the smaller slim safety out for standard safeties.

Yes, agreed for ESP the safeties would not be ideal.

John92AWD: If I were you I would stick with the standard safeties. The thin ones found on the Shadowline guns really don't offer any advantage to the shooter other than cosmetics and are a PITA if you find yourself using them regularly. For the extra couple of hundred bucks I suppose CZ felt they had to appear to be offering something different in appearance so you get a different set of safeties and a differently shaped hammer with a gun with a faster reset and an ever so slightly crisper trigger. I am sure there are some shooters who benefit from these improvements. My ego says I did....my scores not so much. LOL

Any issues setting off primers with the 11lb. mainspring?
 
The only issues I have seen with the 11lb main springs, have been with reloads and "high seated" primers. My buddy had a bad batch of reloads and had a few FTF's.

I've never seen an issue with factory loads.
 
just a side note, the thin safeties were developed in the late 70s for the original 75, but were not a hit at the time. It was mostly Adam Tyc who started the Shadow revolution with them when he took a set off of the Rami and discovered they fit the Shadow. just like the slide catch
