1941 Johnson semi-automatic rifle 30-06???

Pretty sure I've seen one of those at Milarm in Edmonton. Probably over a year ago now though......can't remember the asking price at the time either.

I don't think so! I've had these well over 10+ years.....unless I got swallowed by a Black Hole and ended up in Edmonton!

I read a book about the Devil's Brigade a little while back, and 'Johnnie' guns, as they were referred to, were used in the 1SSF.

More interesting I thought was how they first got their hands on them. While training in Montana, they worked alongside USMC paratroopers who were originally issued with Johnsons. After trying a few out, the Devil's Brigade boys ended up trading some of the very large quantity of explosives they had for demo training to the Marines for some Johnnie guns, which they brought along to Italy.

I didn't mean one from your pic, but just that type of rifle. Unless there is something else that looks very similar to these....?

one has to give Melvin Johnson alot of credit, in designing the Johnson, he wasn't a machinist by trade, but a lawyer, John Garand was a machinist by trade, had been since he was a teenager, most of what Garand knew was from practical experience, and taking correspondence courses ,

The few that I have seen on here sold for around $3,500. Gunbroker has a few now . . . current bids/list prices are between $2,500 and $4,150 USD.
