French lead melts great too....
English lead. Way better than that cheap French stuff. And they probably would take a dim view of someone trying to pilfer it, that's Canterbury Cathedral in the background
That is nothing compared to the lead they hauled out of the old water turbine a half mile down the road from my place. The over flow tower was over a hundred feet tall and 15 feet in diameter and case cased in lead sheeting a inch thick on the whole inside of it. Took more then one truck to haul it away and they loaded it with a big track hoe. The chain link fence was in the way of picking any up at night.
To legally load a trailer with lead at it's max capacity it would not look like much on the trailer. A 4 axle trailer would probably look like is under loaded for an outsider. Lead is heavy like hell. I hauled once two buckets meant for disposing radioactive material. Two buckets on 48 feet of deck. Was looking like nothing but they weigh 50 000 lbs together.
I asked them for some lead for myself and they refused. Never hauled for them again even they called me few times.
