I will go on my first Roosevelt Elk hunt this year, getting excited is it fall yet Haahaa
I just figerd out wear the elk are last year but never had time to go after them so the plan is to start scouting figer out wear ther bedding and wear ther feeding ext.
I will take my T/C ProHunter 308 with 15 inch barrel for getting around the thick stuff
My plan is to do what I do best travel light and move quietly on foot packing just the basics
I have heard that bugling for Roosevelt will not work but cow call will work any one have any experience calling Roosevalt Elk

Well, if you're hunting the Gwaii for elk you're chasing Rockies, not Rosies. But good luck! I know a couple of people who pulled bulls out of the north island. They said once was enough! lol

you don't see to many yearly elk hunt over here
Evan us local guys really go after them
I have to go look at the beaver and muskrat damage in the area any ways to see if thy need trapping

It is to bad fur is not prime at this time of year as there is no closed season for trapping beaver and muskrat on Haida Gwaii

Aren't those elk regular elk with a mix of European Red Deer?

Aren't there feral cattle hiding there too?

I'd love to take a trip there sometime.
