is there any trick to collecting pistol shells at an outdoor range? i generally only recover about 50% of my shells to save for reloading (i clean alot up not worth saving for the bin im not leaving a mess).

just wondering if anybody has any tips/tools/tricks to collecting your brass.

Shoot an sp-01 canadian edition. Dumps all the brass in a 1 foot square pile. Or to keep the range clean, shoot my full house 10mm reloads in a g20. Flings the brass right out of the range (I'm exaggerating, but I should probably get a heavier spring lol).

I use a "mesh tarp" : basically it comes from a gravel dump truck (we call them 10wheelers in french) split in half and I peg all corners to the ground if its really windy.

Works great

I pick up all my brass on the off chance i get into reloading. The tarp idea is a good one. What i should do is get a tumbler to clean them up and bag them. Feed the ammo fund by selling them.

I tried that but the Shadow is the only one that plays nice so gave up on the idea :)
