It happens I've seen some of the unclassified prototypes of this 'Skynet style' Swords Weapons System but, because the way things are, never suspected Colt Canada would get the development money to take the idea much further. Now it's looking pretty good, at least according to this article. A link to the SWORD system and a pretty darn good related video are found at the link. The rifles I've seen would do everything including playing movies and cooking dinner.

And come to think of it, I'm only posting the link because of a new personal policy regarding this forum, so if interested you'll have to go there anyway!

Looks like a cool rifle for sure. Wonder if it will ever hit the civilian market? Although I wonder how many features would actually be useful to us.

Yes well of course that's what you get for looking and posting in the correct subforum.

Powered rails are dumb until they make ones that can have completely sealed connections that won't short out at the slightest bit of moisture.

You say that like it would be a hard thing. Anyway, among other advantages, holding a rifle that provides a complete overhead view of where you are is pretty dramatic the first time you do it.

Well multiple companies have been trying for over a decade and none have succeeded so far the Wilcox Industries rail is the best so far and it still can not be used in any maritime setting.
