Hello all,

I am looking to get some information on where I might be able to get some parts for a Norinco M311-1/Dominion Arms DA556A2A. I have contacted someone from CanadaAmmo who is keeping an eye open for the parts, he has a found a butt stock but not the handguard. I have had nothing but trouble in trying to find the fore end and the butt stock. Does anyone know where I could get the fore end and butt stock I am looking for? And if anyone knows where I might be able to get the odd front sight and "Revolver" style pistol grip would be nice as well. Any info on where I might be able to get them would be great. Thanks all, sorry if is in the wrong place

Here are some pictures in case someone doesn't know what rifle I am referring to. Once again I am looking for just the Forward Hand guard, Butt stock and if possible the "Revolver" style pistol grip and the odd Front sight

I don't know where you'll find that hooded front sight, but contact Milarms in Edmonton, AB and High Calibre in Mission, BC. I seem to remember both having parts on their counters for the Norinco (namely Milarms had the revolver pistol grip at one point).

Thank you so much do you happen to have any contact info for them? Just out of curiosity would you know if the very short Commando style rifles ever made their way into Canada?

You could always keep an eye on the EE here on the forums.

On a side note, why the DA556? In good 'ol USA, you guys have access the quality AR for the same price as the DA. The only reason these things sell in Canada is because they ar as cheap as a box of KD and the equivalent USA made product costs 300$ more up here.

I saw a picture of an Original Norinco M16A1 copy in the hands of an Iranian Soldier a few years ago and I have been wanting the parts ever since. That and I have always liked the Retro AR style. Not alot of people down here know that Norinco made AR-15s or even heard of them (Thanks import bans). I guess its just because I want something different and I really like the AR-15 and its history so Having a """"Chinese"""" AR would turn some heads I think lol

Doesn't the ban on Chinese guns (and presumably gun parts) still exist? The CQ-311 is the basis on the Iranian bullpup. Sudan also issues the 311. All three countries are #### holes. I've never seen the hooded gas block here, and the pistol grip and hand guards (ribbed condom) are traded out for US parts right away.

Have you tried contacting Leverarms in Vancouver, BC? I know they carry a lot of Norinco stuff.

Contact info:

http://www.milarm.com/ (referred to above)

http://www.hical.ca/ (referred to above)

w w w .leverarms.com (the original importer of the CQ 311 - link broken because I don't think they're a sponsor, )

That Commando looks like a LaFrance DOE gun - they never sold these here, I'd have had one (maybe two). Norcs are weird, but they run.

Thank you for the links, Milarms has some parts, but the other two didnt. As for the small Commando its definitely a Chinese rifle. Pretty sure the image is cropped of a Russian in Afghanistan during the 80s

I know for sure 100% you cant get newly made Chinese guns (Other then a Wincherster 1887 repo that doesnt work right and I think some .22s) In the US, but from what I have been told I dont think ordering a stock set and maybe a front sight would be breaking any laws. If I was ordering a full Upper Receiver then that might be a different story. And from what I hear about people just swapping out the parts is pretty much what you said. They will just add some Magpul stuff to it and throw the old sets away.

For this stuff, you should call - they won't have them on their web site. I'll check with a friend who's a gunsmith, he might have some stuff lying around, I won't see him until next weekend, but if he has anything I'll PM you. No question on the shorty, you can see the triangle arsenal mark, just wish I'd had one.

I actually called first and the salesmen on the phone said they have "Literally 50 of the" I hope they do have 50 of the Revolver style grips just lying around lol

Those are the f-ugliest hand guards I've ever seen !!!
.
They're so ugly....I took them off my DA 556 rifle last year ASAP . There's even a few posts I wrote about it last year in the Black Rifle section . I have a set just sitting in my basement , I'd be happy to sell the OP . Question is - can I ship these Norinco parts to the U.S.A ? Let me know , fellow Nutz .

Thats exactly why I like them, because they are so ugly. Also Im fairly sure shipping basic parts is fine. I mean people buy cheap Chinese stuff for their AR-15s here all the time.

There's still a version sold here - I'd completely forgotten about that, the current ones are built to standard spec - the early ones.....not so much, odd ball metric sized everything.

https://www.canadaammo.com/product/detail/dominion-arms-da556-m16-style-rifle-variation/

Which means the only thing that should be hard to get is the pistol grip.

I actually contacted someone at Canadaammo about it and they are holding a butt stock for me until they get a handguard set it.
