Shotgun Newbie here: Found a new love, shooting clays!

Yes I actually have two drop shims in and it still isn't enough the comb is made for fat people with no necks.... I have a long neck and high cheeks need a low comb and low drop at heel.

Hey I have one of those guns!! While I am not fat my face is so I kinda see your point:) selling feature for Winchester marketing, " are you a fat guy with no neck? Are you built like archy bunker? We make a shotgun for you! Bring your fat wife too - we sell a 20 gauge for Edith! Get a cab and head on down to Winchester - cause we know your chunky ass ain't walking here - and pick up an sx3 today. Are you poor and obtusely fat with no neck? Check out the sxp for half the price of the sx3"

I have a long neck, and a thin face, and the SX3 fits me as it comes from the factory. Other than the SX-3. I shoot Citori shotguns because most models have enough drop at comb for me. On the other hand, the Berettas don't fit me at all.

Look for a newer Ithaca M37 with chokes, they occasionally pop up in the EE. Got mine a few months back and it will have to be pried from my cold, dead hands. The slickest pump I have ever used, and fits me like a glove. Paid a whisker over $500 for it.

I went cheap. I bought a Remington 870. They were on sale at wholesale. Bought a case of #8 shells and a skeet choke to go along with it. If I plan on doing more of this I will buy something better.

Thanks for the advice!

Good for you. Easy to disassemble, parts are available. Don't shoot mine as much as I like. Shotguns are kinda like Skittles. One is definitely not enough. Let the obsession begin.

I see your North of Edmonton, wholesale sports has a sale I just saw for Remington 870s, $359 right now instead of $479! I'd hop on that deal!

Good for you: it'll get the job done. One flat of shells? Wait until you are trying to negotiated volume deals for yourself..."for 50 flats will you give me each for $75 tax in??"

Fyi oil the exterior of that 870 a little. The express is a little prone to rust.
