What to replace the 10/22 with?

Considering that your fellow countrymen face the possibility of lengthy incarceration as a result of this recent determination, I am sure they will feel great solace with your opinion.
It is one thing to be one of the resident apologists for the liberal party and quite another to make light of what the result of this determination will have on your fellow Canadians.

Shame on you sir, shame.

LOL. Okay well when someone is imprisoned for a 10/22 mag I will be happy to write them a letter of apology for my bad (but true) joke.

I rarely shoot my 10/22 since I got a Marlin 795... More accurate, just as reliable. 25 round ProMag mags are more reliable than the BC mags or those HC3R mags ever were in my Ruger. I have a couple of GSG mags that have been 100% reliable in the Ruger.

The Marlin is under-rated in all the 10/22 hype. Great gun, and there's more and more aftermarket stuff for them. Have mine in a Boyds stock, with a Dip Trigger and Trigger guard. Great little shooter.

I was actually considering selling my 10/22 because I just don't use it.

Now...

Fack that. I'm keeping it. Along with the BC and HC3R mags that never worked right, and the GSG 110 round drums that did work right. The Redcoats want it? Really? Well come and collect it. And charge me. Life is boring lately anyway. A bit of court time might be interesting.

Not even going to try to fight for your property, or that of your fellow law-abiding firearm owner?!?!

I assume you are addressing me. Honestly I sat at my desk for several hours this morning in the 10/22 mag thread and trying to think up some creative way around this. I have one of these mags now, and I don't think it should be prohibited for me or anyone else. After examining the law I am currently at the point where I think we may be screwed on this. I think it's been a loophole that we have been allowed to get away with to this point, based on the wording of the law. I'm still trying to figure out what I can do personally to help reverse this. If you'd like to have a more serious discussion, we should move it over to the 10/22 mag thread.

CZ 512 Tactical. High capacity semi auto .22 and awesom CZ quality. What's not to love?

On a side note, those 25 round magazines do fit the regular CZ 512 as well if wood is more your style.

I got the wood 512, eats win grey/white, fed bulk, cci with no failures in approx 400 rounds. Well one, but it was ammo related as i ejected it, spun it and when the firing pin hit it again it went off. Looks kind of hideous but i like it haha. Mags are a steep $62.99 though. Trigger is 4 lbs with a bit of creep but seems to be getting better. Def more accurate than my 10/22. Its a cool little rig for sure. Fun with the irons.

But don't roll over for this 10/22 BS! This will likely be another beowulf/858/san situation....they are pressing our buttons HOPING for us to roll over....

That looks like it'd be alright. If the mags feed perfect maybe I'll jump on one.

I hear you about just sayin fack it! And just wait for them to take them...lifes not so boring that I want to burn through thousands of dollars and do a year in jail.

Not replacing my 10/22 with anything. While I would have liked to have a BX-25, others I tried did not work for me. I use the Tri-mag adapters or single 10 rounder, and works just fine.

I have had really good luck with my RX-22. Very accurate and only a couple feeding issues in about 1500 rounds now. There isn't much for aftermarket stuff though, so if tweaking this and that is your thing then probably not for you.

With that said, don't give in! The Lieberals are pushing, and seeing what they can get away with and what will be accepted. There has to be a quarter million of these "prohibited devices" out in the wild, if not more, and they're just going to ban it, no compensation or nothing? Frack that.

The 795 rocks my socks! The only complaints I have is not much for aftermarket yet, you can't release bolt catch with the charging handle, and the safety is behind the trigger. All first world problems because after market stuff is being made, 10/22 don't even have last shot hold open and I only use the safety if I am walking long distance

I got rid of my S&W M&P 15-22 rifle when the S&W mags had to be pinned to 10 rounds. I bought a Ruger 10/22 to replace it because I could have unlimited mag capacity. I now own 4 10/22s and ironically I only use the 10 round magazines. None of the high capacity mags I have tried are reliable enough. I know some say the BC steel lips are "perfect" but they have not proven better than 95% reliable in my hands. So I will not be getting rid of my 10/22s even if this latest potential mag grab happens. I own several other .22 semi-auto rifles that have unlimited mag capacity for those times when I really need a high speed plinking fix (an AR-22 w/ Black Dog 20, 32 & 50 round mags & a Beretta ARX160 w/ 10, 20 & 30 round Colt M4 mags).

I also find myself only using the stock mags due to mostly bench shooting or gopher hunting leaning on a fence or using bipod, BUT every now and then when a guy wants to plink some freehand targets and such we should be able to use the legal mags we bought and have had for years! As far as I'm concerned we should be freely using BX25 mags in our 10/22's also, this whole Canadian magazine capacity thing is getting more and more rediculous.

I agree 100%. I believe the BX25 is the only consistently reliable high capacity mag for the 10/22, but even it is not quite as reliable as the BX1.

Wife has a 597 with a couple 25 rounders. She loves it. I have the STG44 and its a blast, though I find the mags only really load 22/23. Oh well, still a hoot. There are options, but for how long, that is the question....
