Pre-Orders for the Tikka Arctic .308 Win! Get yours now!

This is basically a Tikka CTR with a laminated stock and iron sights for twice the price. When the Tikka CTR was first available it came with the Sako TRG22 magazine which is a couple of hundred dollars, so they now have a dedicated CTR magazine which is half the price with the plastic floor plate so that it cannot be used in a TRG22. I should state that I think the Tikka CTR is a really good rifle and is defiantly worth the price, just not sure about the Arctic unless you are a serious collector, in which case you should probably get the CZ 557 Ranger (i.e Range rifle according to CZ's marketing literature) at the same time for your collection, since this was also a competitor in the Ranger rifle selection!

Why can't manf just standardize on AI mags? Bad enough these are stupid expensive, but also unobtanium.

Justification for my CTR was extra TRG mag. Looks like the new one knocks 50 bucks US off but CTR only mag. No thanks, like the metal floor TRG mags.

Cause AI and Sako are two diff companies in two diff countries. What company is STUPID enough to standardized on another companies' parts; doing that or asking is STUPID.

Are these made by Diemaco in Canada or by Tikka in Finland?

I'm assuming these Tikkas are made in Finland by Tikka. I contacted Colt Canada about a civilian version of the Ranger rifle and the said there were no plans to make it available to the public.

Thanks for the info. That's too bad. A Diemaco ranger rifle is what I really want. If I wanted a Tikka I'd just buy a standard model.
