That was the Natural Law Party headed by Doug Henning!

Oh, heck... I lost track of fringe wingnut parties I've voted for over the years.

I used to vote for the Green Party... Until they actually started to threaten to win seats. Originally, running as a Green candidate was an easy tax dodge during election years for grifters and con-men - and I could get behind that. (Seriously, campaign finance laws are designed to create giant tax loopholes for candidates - need to buy a new car and new computer? Buy it, donate it to the campaign, write it off as a political contribution, and then have the campaign sell it back to you for $1 after you lose the election).

you support that behavior? You support people that cheat the system to get a free lunch?

That behavior represents everything I despise to my very core about Canada.

I wish we took people like that and sold them as slaves to isis

When every politician for the large established parties behaves like that (and they do), yes, I support the right for the "little guy" to do it as well. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander.

Our entire political system, from top to bottom, is a crock. I see no reason that a small, inner circle of political operators should get all the benefits. We need more gadflys out there abusing the system in the same way the political insiders do - not less. Only then will the light shine on how things are actually run, and do we stand a chance for meaningful reform of the system.

Although I run more with mikethebike, you make a valid point; it is impossible to agree that certain elites march to their own little drummer. The "system" is in need of a SERIOUS shake.
