That stuff doesn't meter well. He may be just loading away like it's any other powder. Tell him to weigh each powder drop and see what he is getting.

That should be a mild load.

I suspect the powder charge is not right,

I loaded 700x in my skeet loads for several years, and it metered just fine in my Ponsness 800C.

I have loaded thousands of rounds in my MEC 9000 with that same load of 700X. They worked fine for me & any misses were not the fault of the gun or the ammunition.

Sorry if I derailed your thread. If the powder has a strong & bitter odour & if it is brown tinged from a rusted container then I would not use it. Better to use any suspect powder as a fertilizer rather than damage a good gun or the shooter.
