Best Welfare rifle?

I walked about 2000 yards , shot a moose, dragged it to my door. Cost me $2 for the cartridge.

2000 yards?..come on, that's not close ...that's way over a mile!...Are you sure you didn't mean 200 yards?

My closest moose dropped 400 yards from my back door and my closest whitetail buck (10 point) dropped 150 yards from the house. I shot a big coyote in mid-winter from inside the house. Just cracked the door a bit. Too cold to go out. The good old days back on the ranch.

Ok, I'll start. Require that you pay property tax to vote..
Where I was born, you got extra votes if you owed property. The center part of my street was several blocks of burnt-out rubble, though, I'm not sure if rubble counted for voting purposes. Then they went for a "One man, one vote" system, and now they have minorities involved in government

.

In the Great Depression a lot of hunting seemed to be done with smaller rifle calibers, less powder and lead. Deer hunting with a 25-20.

Just finished glancing at the OPs other threads and he has over $13000 worth of stuff on the EE... kinda funny he's on welfare asking about budget rifles lol. This changes things a bit...my newest recommendation would be a nice drilling or double rifle.

LOL ....... I might be wrong but I think that you will find that the OP is not on welfare.

You might wanna reread the first post..

Since that POS Trudeau Sr. removed allodial title none of us are actual land owners so there goes that stupid idea.

Bet you also think your vote counts and your taxes pay to run the country. God damn people are ignorant. No wonder why they get away with all the gun bulls**t they do.

You ever ask the question "if we can print our own money than who the hell do we owe a debt to"?

Might want to investigate a little deeper just exactly why The Bank of Canada charges us interest to PRINT OUR OWN MONEY. But as usual with most people Jack Nicholson go it right ... "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH".

As to the OP, .22 lr bolt action would be best choice imo.

Is it Angry White Guy Monday? I must not have gotten the memo...oh, yeah! I'm not angry, lol. No good comes into my world starting a Monday angry.
32-20 was likely a popular one in days of old too.

I think that the way most of us hunt, it requires getting up early and some pretty hard work.......Neither of which is likely to appeal to typical welfare recipients. The only hunting they should do is for a job with taxable income.

Tax is theft, period. (agree with rest of it)

Nice hat. Alcan?

Nice hat. Alcan?

All 100% provable. Look up the legislation. I'll give you a hint ... the legislation to remove allodial title, hand the printing of our money so they can charge us interest on our own money over to the bank of Canada ... and if that weren't bad enough, passing anti-hate crime laws which destroyed legal freedom of speech ... were all passed in 1974.

Nothing to do with a tin foil hat, and everything to do with your ignorance.

Nice head in sand .... government education system was it ?

That's funny. No, I'm not on welfare...thankfully not even close....my question was merely academic and "just for fun"...I suppose I could open another thread and ask what would be the ideal gun if you were a billionaire...a lot of people seem to be upset about them too (not me, nothing against rich people).

also...$13,000 worth of stuff on EE?!! Really?...Wow! Thanks for adding it all up for me.

I don't like drillings (and I want to)...they seem way too heavy and awkward to function as proper shotguns and not accurate enough to function as real rifles...sort of the worst of both worlds...like a motorcycle sidecar outfit...neither fish nor fowl..

...a good double rifle might be fun...never tried one...one of my few gun show regrets was not buying a nice double rifle in .303 British that I saw at a gun show a couple of decades back...it was British, a major maker but I can't remember the name. It would have made a real nice bush rifle...and the two young guys who were selling it didn't seem to care about it. I think they had inherited it and they didn't want all that much for it...but I hesitated...and, well...I don't own it. It was in real nice shape too.

Just bought another 30-06...loading for it today...range tomorrow.

I'd say this thread has pretty much dried up...time to move on.

I personally know one fellow here that because of the recent changes to the child benefit payment coupled with the fact that he has 5 children will be getting $2000 per month from the gov't. He can and will be living off that amount and will not be working in the future.

He has a good trade and could easy be working locally grossing +/- $100K per annum.

$2000 a month is enough to clothe and feed 5 kids, plus pay rent and everything else???

Single shot shotgun for $150... with bird buck and slugs you can hunt anything.

Toss in a $150 single for shot .22 and you can even plink with dirt cheap ammo. Someone on welfare is in the game with $300 for two rifles and $100 worth of ammo. $400 total... how much is a welfare cheque?

$710 in BC for a single person. Single person and 3 kids is a tad over $1500.

If you're on welfare and living in government housing you do a lot better than working. An adult with 3 kids get about $2000 a month, $1800 subsidized heat and lights per yr. Free rent, free daycare , free drugs, free dental, free taxis to drop and pickup their kids to the free daycare. So I think they can afford a half decent hunting rig. Better than some think. A used rem 700 would be a good welfare gun... Lol

Government housing? Hah. The only available government housing around here is market rate, where you must make over $40000 a year to rent (but under 85 000ish)

Welfare is about $500 bi weekly. Assume your in govt housing you pay no rent, 3 kids gets you $1300/month child tax, your kids can join dance or hockey free, you don't pay for daycare. . This is the equivalent lifestyle id someone making $60-$70k.

You don't get free daycare here in BC. Even if you qualify for subsidy (which you don't on welfare here) it still costs a few hundred bucks a month. Hockey/dance isn't free either. You get tax credits for that stuff, but if you are on welfare you don't pay taxes so you can't use the credits.

Clearly a lot of people here think welfare is some magical easy ride in life. Well trust me, its not. My wife is on permanent disability, I have kids, and Im a full time student. Disability pays rent, baby bonus pays for food/diapers/bills and there isn't much left after that. I work part time just to afford beer and ammo, and I'm burying myself in a hole with student loans, but you gotta do what you gotta do. (In bc, disability pays the exact same as welfare)

Oh, and best welfare gun? Maverick 88.

welfare should be done away with immediately, I fully understand that there are people who truly need a bit of help due to death, sickness etc but as for the rest of the lazy slobs I say if they want government funded food, clothing and shelter they should have to take their lazy asses to a Canadian forces recruitment centre to get it.
HELL NO !!

We dont need the kind of people that is on welfare out of lazyness to join the army...
Got enough self entitled, question asking and lazy people that got in due to lack of minimum standards, we dont need anymore people that are solely joining for a pay check !!

They can go #### up my order at timmies or mcdonalds, but please stay away from the army !

I didn't really mean in a capacity that others would have to rely on them, more like give em a one week crash course, hand them an old surplus rifle and drop them in the middle of Afghanistan or Syria.

I like that !

You and I should have a beer, I'm sure you'd like my idea for prisonners/rapist/killer and other garbage of our society :p
