Hi all

I have a SPS Model 700 and wondered if it was possible to convert it to use a detachable magazine?
What would be required to do this if it's possible.

Thanks!

Lots and lots of different products. More options for a short action than a long action. What cartridge is the rifle chambered for? As stated, some options need inletting, some do not.

.308 SA Remington have more options than anything else !

I like Badger bottom metal and AI mags. Lots of other good stuff though.

If your not looking at spending a bunch of cash then thekwik klip conversions are painless and relatively inexpensive, they work but can be a bit noisy as the magazine has been a bit loose in the ones I've seen. h ttp://www.accurateaction.com/inventory/kwik-klip/

I've converted two B&C stocks to a Magpul DBM by myself. A Dremel, some files and a steady hand will do it. The advantage of the Magpul DBM is that you don't have to inlet for seating depth. If you're inletting the plastic Remington stock that came with your SPS you'll be fine. In the B&C I had to file away some of the aluminium bedding block which was a pain. Check out my Remington 700 Mountain SS thread for the results.

I did the same thing. I just could not resist. Have a look and read through this thread:

Hope this can work for you!

Cheers,
