I am looking for any Crown or Public use land south or east of Edmonton that I can hunt for rabbits. Or any farm owner that would let me have permission to hunt on their land for hunting rabbits and or pest control.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: prefer 30 mins or less travel time from living room sofa seat from downtown EDM?
Will share coordinates with other other apartment block dwellers, have targets for many shooters, willing to share! ???

Please post the numbers, have F100 loaded and ready to rock & roll, loaded with action targets for everyone!

You are talking close to my neck of the woods: as for crown land or public use land without shooting restrictions.... I don't know of any in the three counties I frequent. Seriously: I have three counties worth of RM maps and there is zero crown land. The only public use areas I have listed have discharge restrictions: parks with a zero discharge rule and community pastures that have very strict calendar restrictions (when cattle are in if you are heard/caught/seen with a rifle the RCMP and CO will be involved as the farmers do not play around - a friendly warning).

Do sum Horse trading with one or two farmers ask to clean a barn or chicken coop in Exchange for hunting rabbits once the farmer knows you are one of the good guys it will pay of big time com hunting season

I was working in Killem Alberta I helped clean one barn
The farmer called all his Neighbors by the time I was finished he had gotten me permission to hunt all the farms in Killem all the way to just about to Fort Wainwright
I originally got the idea from this forum and it works big time

There is a publication put out about locations available for hunting and you'd be amazed at the opportunities. It was published Alberta Fish & Game association and can be obtained from the . It includes Buck for Wildlife purchases Ducks unlimited , Lands bequeathed for the purpose community pastures and crown land. These properties can ale be found on county maps. Some crown land is leased to farmers for agricultural purposes so access is not always available depending on what use it is put to.

Alberta puts the Lease Land up on a website. Worth looking in to, as it has the contact info for the Leasee there.

A bit of a drive out of the City, but the Ministik (Spelling?) Bird Sanctuary is available as a hunting location, though you will have to check on firearms discharge as well as vehicle access. Pretty sure it's walking only, but it's pretty good moose pasture, so there will be rabbits. Seeing more than just a million miles of rabbit tracks on the snow, on the other hand, is problematic! :)

Worth buying the book of "Buck for Wildlife" maps. IIRC, they can be found online too.

Other than that, legwork. Knock on doors, ask around, be polite, and accept rejection graciously.

Cheers
