Pretty sure I just got burned on a pretty expensive deal. I let my guard down and jumped in a bit quicker than I normally would have because the guys avatar shows a trader rating of 445 100%. If I'd have gone to the trouble of checking his profile and feedback score I would have seen that the guy has a bunch of negitive (red) and I would have been much more cautious. Not sure why the % system shows up this way...just a heads up guys, check those feedback scores.

Hmm sounds like a glitch maybe. I always look for negative feedback regardless. Reading other's comments on how they do business means much more than just a number.

Hope your deal works out.

Can you expand on your comment re: getting burned pretty bad? Was the condition not as described etc etc etc?

Cheers

I read the post once , twice and now three times and there is no mention of any wrong doing, just speculation that something might go wrong.
Just that there are one or two negative ( alleged ) feedbacks .

I can understand the concern if there are other telltail signs that something is wrong, but it appears for now there is nothing wrong, yet?

Misrepresented item. I'm sure it was intentional on his part, but I accept partial blame for not being thorough. All the pictures I recieved were taken so a person wouldn't catch the problem. I've sent the guy emails and PMs asking for a refund...even told him I would cover his shipping cost and pay him a bit for the trouble...haven't heard back from him and he's on here going about his business.

Did you leave the appropriate Trader Feedback WITH the details as required?

I'm giving him a little more time to respond, I just recieved the item yesterday. But yes, he will be getting negative feedback if he doesn't respond today.

patience..... people have lives other than CGN. One day is a very short time. I do hope it works out for you in the end...

I feel your pain. I've had many, many, great interactions with my fellow CGNer's, but I always look at the total activity listing, good and bad. I've been stung twice. Once buying a Long Branch No.4 that turned out to be a "put-together", and once buy a newbie who didn't mention that the milsurp rifle had been drilled & tapped. In both cases they wouldn't take the rifles back or even give a partial refund. The first guy claimed honest ignorance ("that's how I got it") and the second claimed to have a newborn and had already spent the money. In both cases I take partial blame for not asking either the right questions or enough of the right questions. If a seller is honest, he/she will understand the wish to have all the details nailed down before I lay out some hard-earned cash for an item. In the same vein, I'll answer as many questions as a buyer sees fit to ask me, though I always try to be as thorough as possible in the details when I list something for sale. Two bad deals out of 140? I haven't done too bad and the stinkers I just put down to live-and-learn.

I'm trying to have patience. But when he's on here bumping ads after I've messaged him....I'm pretty sure I know whats up.

Some of us do our correspondence on CGN with a smart phone, so having the time and the right environment to properly respond to a PM is not always available. I spend a lot of time on CGN in short vehicle rides or during short breaks. Sometimes it will take more than 24 hrs for me to find suitable moment to hammer out some PM's and finalize deals. Just sayin'

I'll give a personal example of an issue I had on the EE. I bought a 1949 SKS, not pristine but with the 90 degree gas block clearly visible in the pic.

Rifle arrived, it did not have the 90 degree gas block & was clearly a different rifle. I sent him a pm, with a pic of the rifle he said I was buying, and a pic of the rifle that showed up... The seller refunded me my cost PLUS the return shipping.

In this case, I think working with the seller to get your refund is the way to go & I would give him a bit of time to reply. It is a long weekend & lots of folks are spending time with family, even if they are hopping on & off CGN in spare moments.

Cheers

The best is when some hard core seller with close to a thousand deals, tells you that the price was good and there fore disclosure of rust and missing parts is irrelevant.......
Or he sells you reloaded ammo but neglects to mention it and sends it by Canada Post to save a few bucks...... there are a few real sleaze bags out there on the E.E. but for the most part I've had great experiences. You learn to ask all the questions though, specially if the pictures are not great.

Its ok to ##### about the greatest buy/sell forum to ever hit Canada. But It amazes me how this system does so well on the honour system. Kudos to all on the EE. The only negative transaction I have ever had is a retail in person sale where the retailer would not take care of a simple warranty issue that involved replacing a part he had on the shelf. Be patient and don't be so quick to dirt bag a seller until you have exhausted all other avenues

been burned by 100% guy before as well... trust nobody

i wont buy anything more than 100 dollars unless its face to face now
