Where to find Unique powder?

Have you tried Higginson in Hawkesbury??

They have a lot of powder on hand at very good pricing. Some around $32 per pound before taxes and shipping. Alliant powders are notoriously hard to find. I finally went to other powders from other manufacturers that were close and in some cases even better than the Alliant offerings.

Take a look at the burn rate charts and purchase accordingly. With a little due diligence you can likely save yourself a lot of time and money by picking up an 8 pound keg.
 
Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to get away without the shipping and the hazardous materials charges. One pound will do me. I have one old (1885 manufactured ) rifle I want to load for , and shoot just occasionally. It's not an every day plinker . It's a 44/40. I may have to go to another powder.

Higginson does not deal in Alliant powders.
 
trail boss from hogdon is a special powder devolped for plinking load and easy to find munch more better is really cheap 29$ for a can is really bulky and little make a long run, more than a can of unique
 
Bullet Barn and Rusty Woods show unique in stock ---- I know you didn't want to do the shipping thing, but as a rule of thumb there is no hazmat fee if you order out of Ontario, for powder. Have you looked at 700x powder? Its a little dirtier, but would be gentle on your rifle.
