Sling wise, the simple black 2 point are the 'issue' slings, do you have a single point rear sling mount?

If you study photos, you will see some variations on slings depending on the Regiment.

Those look really nice! Jealous

If anyone is interested in the 80% engraving, "Braceman" on ar15.com does a lot of reproduction engraving for us cloners. He just finished engraving another 80% reproduction of a U.S. Military issued M4A1 rifle, and his work is impeccable. He is also a nice guy to boot and a pleasure to work with

For me an original 14.5 C8 lightweight profile would be the Holy Grail of unobtanium. Only heard of one guy that owns the real deal.

At least they're easily replicated by turning down a regular M4 barrel.

I believe everything else from that collection got snapped up. Pretty happy with what I ended up with though! Got a few more loose uppers and barrels to build into guns plus a complete C8CQB upper, but I ran out of CC lowers to put them on lol.
Still think the prices were retarded. They were all used uppers.

Finally got my Colt six hole carbine hand guards tonight, and was able to install them. Leave for Montreal for a week, but when I get back will post pictures. Will decide whether I was want to add an Eotech, but the sling and M3X light are next

Wow, you don't see Thermold mags too often these days.

Very nice job!

at least one that has not self destructed

when the c7 was first issued that was the issue mag and it was JUNK - most of us bought USGI mags and never used the CF issue one

BTW - nice clones

My issue C7 was a little different being A- nothing lol

I participated in the final testing of the improved thermamold magazines. IIRC they had metal lips a la Glock. But, by then the troops had already lost faith in the product. They after all were designed to come in a bandolier of 5 per filled 30 round magazines and thrown away after they were used.

Us gun plumbers literally got a tech message a few years ago that states that if we ever find these junk magazines in vaults or QMs that we must destroy them. They are indeed complete garbage.

Now if you happen to have a C8 14.5" barrel as mentioned would you clone the C8 or C8A1 ?

They were not as bad as you might think. I never had problems with them. The later versions were great.
