2016 Canadian IPSC Nationals

Maybe we can all hope that the region or section coordinator look into these "too many issues to document" to see what improvements can be made

That's odd....unless the mag was in the front pocket the whole time? Allied equipment doesn't depend on it being loaded with rounds as far as I'm aware.

It doesn't specify, but it says ammo & its respective mag....
so if there's no ammo in that mag, then it's not ammo & its respective mag. .. its only a mag... just an objective & obviously not part of the equipment for that stage. Shooters had just unloaded n show clear, and went hot to next stage.
So RO seen that mag go in to pocket.
I believe it's fair that the rule is intended for loaded mag.
No stage ever has u load a mag after the start.

I read it that way & common sense would dictate that, I believe so.

As long as it was fair for everyone.....I don't see your gripe!

Closing of the other thread was due to the fact it violated our forum rules as previously described.
The rule regarding allied equipment is what got them bumped to open, loaded or not, it was a mag forward of the hip one. There was a very descriptive thread on this very topic at Gestapo Village where Sean Hansen specifically mentioned how it would suck if this happened to you at the Nat's. Stupid rule maybe, but it's the rule.

Interesting...what CGN rule violation did I incur?

It is, in my view, a conflict of interest when a mod shuts down a thread that legitimately disparages a person who is admittedly a friend of his....but that might just be my drunken perception.

I don't see how the previous thread violated any forum rules, but After 6 beers or so, the world seems pretty simple to me

what a blast

This was my first nationals and I want to say it was a blast....I can't say thanks enough to the organizers and volunteers that helped to make it an event I will remember for a long time. I met lots of people I would never of had a chance to see and I had lots of laughs. Nothing can ever be perfect and I am sure there are those that are not happy about something or other but from me

Bravo Zulu

Big shout out to the sponsors when it comes to future purchases you will be the first I look to....

the match was meh, honestly disappointed in it, there were a couple outstanding stages but the rest, I don't know maybe it's just being spoiled by the matches I've been at recently. I am of course even more disugsted in my shooting. But I will say I've never been to a match with such aggessive and bullying CROs and ROs, making stuff up on the fly and being nasty to shooters. Absolutely disgusting behavior from some of them, and the RM as well. Too many things to document here. I'm buddies with the MD and don't want to throw all this at his feet. I also had to DQ a friend of mine after he swept himself going prone, I didn't like doing that, but we hugged afterwards, was his second to last bay too. he only had 4 stages left to shoot.

Bummer.

Match was challenging and great stages. Jim and the guys in NS did a great job and put in tons of work. My open bump had nothing to do with any of that.
Cheers
Mo

The thread was shutdown after repeated requests for the information that the person posting all the crap said he had but would not share. As the people he was accusing are members here, that is insulting to them, as well it was a straight up troll thread. All of which violate our rules. Continued stupidity around this will result in further actions by mods. That's an official warning.
If you wish to engage in slandering and defemation you can do so at another forum not here.

What do u guys think of this;
I can ##### all i want, but if i feel it is a ridiculous rule, i should do something to change it. I want to correct a trap for production and standard...and classic shooters who may incidentally get bumped into Open due to an arbitrary rule that penalizes shooters for placing spent magazines or depleted magazines into pockets. To say there is no problem is remedial, more than one shooter got bumped to open division in the above situation..myself included. There was no advantage to placing magazines in pockets. I know no one who would retrieve magazines in this manner.
How does this sound:
If 2 stages are to be attempted following one another, and after 1 lamr, a shooter may place spent or depleted magazines
In any pockets, as long as the shooter does not use the magazines after the start of the secondary stage.

It would reduce the chances of penalizing shooters for something that can possibly make matches quicker, and reflect the firearm division being attempted.

Thoughts?
