I do cerakote work and am in Edmonton. Ive done a few rifles in burnt bronze as well as my own pistol. Its a very popular color. Titanium is the other new popular choice.
 
I have had nothing but excellent service and communications with Ted. Either via phone or email. Stopped at his shop near Ste Breiux and had a tour. Between barrel making he had built a beautiful Super Cub.
 
If you can't get a hold of Ted, check with Dlask arms, they do fluting or their own in house made barrels so might be able to help you out.

Funny you should say that. Ted has always been a perfect gentleman when I deal with him. Mind you the last time was a couple of years ago. I ordered five barrels from him and they all arrived in one very well wrapped bundle about three weeks later. Some of the nicest barrels going to work with and as guntech mentioned, the bores are perfectly true to the axis of the blanks which makes them very easy to thread true. I have seen other blanks that looked good but they certainly weren't as perfectly centered as Ted's barrels.
 
Lol. I was nothing but courteous... He was not. I was warned before calling him, but made the mistake of seeing for myself. I have bought barrels from multiple other makers who were all very helpful and courteous, him not so much.

If your happy with him - great.

Double gun, I meant no offense. I know exactly what you mean when it comes to some people being crusty.

I just never ran into that with Ted. Very informative and even gave me some pointers on contouring a blank down to sporting dimensions without overheating/stressing the metal without me asking him for his technique. I like to query knowledgeable folks about their techniques for doing certain things. If they volunteer, even better.
 
No offence taken, I simply posted my experience people can agree or disagree (as some obviously do). I'm just glad there are more and more options available these days.
 
Spoke to Ted about 2 weeks ago. As already mentioned he hurt his back and isn't getting much work done. He apologized for taking longer than he originally told me he would on a barrel job and offered to return my money if I was in a hurry. He explained that he had things to do around the farm as well as the barrel shop and that many people get upset when he can't drop everything and deliver THEIR barrel in 2 weeks. He was nothing but courteous to me .
So if you want a barrel fluted Ted will not likely be able to do it in time for hunting season.
 
ive seen the crusty side to for no apparent reason. if you think one of his bbls is nice, maybe you should have a look at one from his teacher, RKS
