Trail cam pics

Next time in should be good. My repaired Moultrie that the moose busted is back up on the same tree. Sporting a plexiglass lens, and a bunch of goop over the black flash, so night photo's may suffer. But we'll see what goes. I also moved 3C to our most northerly stand. Not sure what will come of that. I expect to check them out next week. (3C = Cheap Chinese Camera). :)

A few from my PB.....

Personally I find even the cheap cameras take decent photos. Look for a minimum of five, preferably eight megapixel or better.
Battery life can get into serious dollars though. my cheapest camera (3C) 8 Lithiums only last two weeks!
The moultrie I have, takes four C cells, and lasts about two months, plus it has better time and date stamping ability, and the option to take short video.
Jay's spypoint cameras last a full year on eight Lithiums!

I had a bear destroy my cam once, but ever since I started keeping my cam scent free I no longer have issues. I never touch them with my bare hands. I hate bears, once the show up, all the deer disappear.
These three little guys were wishing they were a couple inches taller to steal my corn.

Hard to believe, but mamma bear never destroyed my feeder after she emptied it, she was a nice thief

I have two Stealth cams and they both have had the same AA batteries in them for two years and they both stayed out all winter this past year. Very impressed with battery life.

Pic 1 is awesome Johnny...... I finally have good salt lick established...... Left fresh batts I. The cam and hope to get something like that when I check it In September...

Last year I had two sets of twin fawns on the cameras. This year only singles.

The two boys were hanging together last year as well. They are much bigger this year.

Both my OLD Bushnell and my Spypoints take AA batteries, and can take over 1000 pics on one set of batteries. Of course this varies due to temperature. I've had my cams out since beginning of June, I expect batteries to be fine when I eventually get out to swap out memory cards.
Check out this site " www.chasinggame dot com they have tons of unbiased reviews of many different cams, and you can also join their forums which are broken down into camera specific forums.

Your looking for a camera that not only is easy on batteries, but has a fast trigger time. You will find that the better cams have extremely fast trigger times, which is important if you have your cam on a trail, but if your placing it on a bait pile or salt lick etc, somewhere where your game will stop, you can get away with a cheaper cam with a longer trigger time.

There is a guy on local hunting site where the pink tuttu roams that posted the diversity in his stomping grounds.
The member there found a small ground spring and hollowed it out some, added a bit of rocks to increase the waters depth and kept his trail cam close by.
Lots of bears cougars and bobcats too.
The wolves showed up and sipped a few drinks...
The bears would lay in the wallow and enjoy the coolness of the water and shade.
These inventions not only show what we might be looking for, but what else maybe in the area and most are welcomed.
Except when those bi-peds show up and spoil the fun by removing the cameras for their own use.
Thanks guys for sharing your pictures .

My nephew once found a trail cam on private land. The details of how he found it I do not remember. He returned to the sight later wearing a horse head (costume) and sat there pretending to eat out of the bait pile for a while so that the camera would get several pictures of him. The next week the land was posted "No Trespassing". Apparently the owner did not think it was as funny as my nephew thought it was. He's a kooky kid with a good sense of humour. He enjoys telling the story.

My wife went into the back yard to sneak in front of my trail cam that I set up to catch the deer eating apples in the back yard (and to get my daughter interested in deer). As she rounded the pirate ship (long story - we have a pirate ship) a doe gobbling apples snorted and stomped at her...and scared the living #### out of her. Turns out she's nto really keen on the dark...or things that go bump in it.

All this to say...I got no trail cam pics of my wife last night, nor do I expect any in the future.
