Long range precision shoot in Sask.

Don't let a lack of big and loud rifles, or starting at 800 stop you from attending. The short range Palma is being held the same day; that's only 300, 500 and 600 yards. You can terrorize a 300 yard target with a typical varmint gun and end up at 600 before you know what hit you. Call it a warm-up if you will.

No doubt some of the Palma guys will shoot the Boomer, because they are going to be doing the same thing the next day. Who would turn down a chance for evening practice for a morning match?

Talked to Keith yesterday, and SPRA memberships are still just 5 bucks for first time members. Frankly, we need the members. Theres lots going on that weekend.

Here's question. If a new F Unlimited class came to be formed, how long before its shortened to F.U.? You know you want to.;)

Hey guys I got a question so I thought I would ask

F Open rules?
Bipod rear bag good?
Is there a time limit on your 10 rounds?

and the short range Palma match before this shoot. Can we actually shoot that with our varmint rifles?

For the Boomer Shoot, rules will be fairly relaxed on most things except safety wise.
You can use a pedestal rest, bipod or sand bag for front rest.
As for time limit, I don't think we will be using one in the Boomer Shoot, within reason.

Short range Palma match with your varmint rifles, you absolutely can! If your coming out for the day, I think you might as well shoot all day!

Are you allowed rear rests?

What are the rules for the short range ?
What is the cost for the day and what are the times?

Apparently about that long. Passed along to a couple folks with .338's etc to see if they are around, but harvest is likely on by then so will see who shows.

Interesting stuff.

Thanks for posting.

It's really unfortunate that our clubs 3G match, Radiums Claybuster shoot, and this is all the same weekend.... Decisions, decisions...

Rules for short range are the same for the longs and Boomer Shoot minus the muzzle brakes in Boomer.
Rules can be found @ saskrifle.com.
Entry fee for the morning short range is separate from the Boomer Shoot.
---First time membership price: $5
---If you've been a member previously: $50
---Chamber flag: $3
---Boomer Shoot entry fee: $20
---Short range Palma (if you choose): $40

Rules will also be covered in the safety briefing and range etiquette will be explained before we head out.

All the new shooters will be paired with others that have experience in competition. Not much to worry about there.

This Palma shoot sounds fun too, just might have to bring the 223 and make a day out of it now. Thats if the weathers nice that day. :)

Who's all doing the afternoon shoot too?

I'm doing both.

Several of the club guys are in.

If 358Rooster is back in time, I believe he wants to.

Local shops and a few gunsmiths have had posters up for people to see as well.

Would be great to see a large turnout! Would be just what we need to convince the club that this is a new direction we should actively pursue at club level and maybe eventually to see it go national!

Ugh......I was really looking forward to this. Unfortunately, we've just started commissioning a freeze plant and I can't afford to take time away from this. Sorry Shooter. I know that Jay was wanting to go as well - I'll get him to get in touch with you if he hasn't already.

It should be a good event and it's one that I hope takes hold out there. Have fun guys!
