So.....did the Jard48's actually come into Canada?
I saw they were FRT'ed NR status.

Did anyone actually buy one and what were the results/reviews on it?
It was one 1950's looking space ray gun looking firearm. Very odd.
Design looked like a reboot of the AR180 with a lot less style and class! lol

Anyone who bought one care to share their experience with it? Materials, quality, accuracy, reliability.
I have heard nothing since the first few mentions of it.

Vaporware as far as I'm concerned. A small shipment made it's way to Canada, but all the models had to be returned to the factory due to some issue. I doubt they'll be back in-country any time soon.

I had one for a day. Wanstall , thankfully , gave a refund. Accuracy was good. But it was doing a continuous double fire, jam, triple fire, jam etc. I had to beat the charge handle open, on a tree stump, it was stuck pretty good. That happened a couple of times. Also the chargeing handle was small and flimsy , wobbling around. The hand guard was very small and and kinda cheap. If it comes back more reliable, better charging handle and a better hand guard , it'll be a nice rifle. Oh and the trigger was very nice, crisp, no creep. Despite all the bad things the gun had a nice balanced feel to it:)

I may have some on my iPad , I'll check later. If they get it right this time , it will be a contender , for sure. Hard said they were going to improve the hand guard , charging handle, hammer spring?, and move the stock/buffer tube assembly more inline with the receiver. And they were also waiting on an FRT for a .308 version. I believe they are known for excellent triggers and barrels also. It's been a long time so my memory is a bit scetchy, but there was a long thread on it, on Wanstalls homepage . There were 20 or so in the country.

I saw one at Jo-brooks end of last year. Didnt ask about it but was surprised to see it on the rack with no hubbub on CGN.

An NR semi 223 should have generated more gossip.

I emailed Jard just before SHOT Show and asked when they were going to be available in Canada again after the recall and they said they were good to go.
Their exact reply was
It should have been done a long time ago
.

Interesting.
What was the sticker price if you don't mind me asking Sir?

$1450+ txs. If these are back on the shelves and nobody is talking about them, then that's a bad sign. These had at least 2 functionality issues and a couple of cosmetic issues. Didn't seem like a quick fix.Maybe the functionality issues are easy but the cosmetic would take a bit of redesigning.

They were no uglier than the rest of crap we got access to (NR) :).
If they got the defects ironed out , it won't be too terrible. 6 ish pounds, accurate, nice trigger, AR parts compatible ,what's not to like?

I know we spend good money on our taste for NR black semi autos but is it possible to gunsmith this gun to make it good or would that cost a lot?

Not exactly sure what was going on. I was getting double and triple bursts and plenty of jambs in between. The charging handle was way to flimsy and was flopping all over the place.I had to use the tree stump to assist in pulling back the charging handle after one of the jambs. The for end is a bit to small (thin) also. On the bright side, the triple bursts were pretty neat though:)
