Side of barrel crown and bnp 18.5 2.222 bunch of other stamps. Crossed flags etc

Thanks

Hahaha yeah I know. I have failed posting Pics many times on here. If anyone wants to pm me a phone number or email I can send a few along

I suspect you are not giving us a full description of what is on the butt socket and when you say a "flip up rear sight" I suspect you mean a tangential sight about mid way down the barrel.

With that date, it will likely be a No1 MkIII* rifle. Your description is so vague it could be worth anywhere between $50 to $500+

What is a butt socket? Is that the metal band near rear hand placement? Yes the sight is mid way down and flip up. It's closer to my face than the one on the end of the barrel so to me it's a rear sight.

If the butt socket is the metal band that has the trigger guard pinned through it then my description of what is on it is accurate. Only thing I didn't mention was that the o in bsaco is underlined as is the HT in Sht. After the Roman numeral 3 there is a small star punch

On the left side under what I believe is the safety it says England. I didn't handle it much and don't have it with me at the moment so I'm doing this from Pics

Also I looked up number 1 mark 3 and they all seem to have a full wood stock covering barrel. This does not and barrel is exposed

Would depend on Bore condition, numbers matching and if it has been recrowned/ or drilled for scope
Mount. I've see sporters from $150-$250ish. If it hasn't been drilled or recrowned it can be restored, although no1mk3 wood and parts can take some time to find and can be costly. Always good to check a .303 with headspace guages as well.
