Sorry to hear it's not just clicking....., my wife loves watching shooting loading mags when her arms get tired, or just dumps the mag shes in the middle of if I push for too long and her arms tire but still smiles.

She has a handgun and will shoot it for a couple hours. She has shot a 12 gauge and her 357 lever action.
She was just pissy for no reason but I will wait and tomorrow she'll say that I overreacted LOL.

In my eyes, he already has showed the patience of a saint - and he has huge respect from me. I started my woman with a .22, and now shoots 12g consistently.. but I've been fortunate with her taking the time to get comfortable.
Your woman on the other hand seems very resistant to your efforts. Hopefully your patience pays off. If it was me, I'd probably be hunting alone.

I've only known one woman who was at all interested in hunting with anyone who wasn't her father. She quit after one shot, dropped the gun in the mud. I guess we should have gone to a range first, but this was long ago.
Back to the OP and light guns in general: There are two schools of grouse shooting in Canada. In one, they're as tame as chickens and you shoot them on the ground, as if with a rifle. In the other, they are quick to flush and are shot on the wing. Please never buy a .410 for wing shooting, they are the great crippler of game birds. I echo the sentiment to use a .22 LR, and with those you get so much less lead in your food too.

Guns and hunting arent for everyone. If she has other redeemable qualities then maybe dont force this issue.
If a 20g with light loads is too much then a 410 isnt going to be much better (and still be an effective hunting gun).
