Public lands

Sounds like you had it pretty good in your home country... you could always go back...

You have completely assimilated in the grand Canadian tradition of "whining..." Welcome to Canada.... hope things pick up for you...

If the OP doesn't like Canada, there's always Texas...

I'm willing to help out with the airfare.

Ask, ask, and ask respectfully. Millions of gracious Canucks that will allow you to hunt on their land if you ask and treat them and their land respectfully.

I'm American and have never been told no when requesting to hunt or target shoot on farm/ranch land. I don't post harvest/kill pictures out of respect for them and I offer them the money on the coyote hides from their property. I help drag chains to unstick their combine, or whatever when I see them in trouble in their fields.

I also met some fine local hunters and was invited to join their hunt club(22 members) and I can hunt Crown land and do some times.

Funny, the harder I try, the luckier I get, however it does take some effort. I visit the co-ops and farm auctions etc. which helps.
You can do it.

The percentage of BC hunting that takes place on private land is pretty small compared to Crown Land hunting. Obviously private land hunting takes place, but it's not nearly as common as public land hunting. Few people buy ranches or farms just to hunt it.

Indeed, to reiterate the stats 94% of BC is crown land. Pretty well only little ribbons along the major corridors are private, of course access becomes more difficult the further from private you go which is a good thing.

What's wrong with Harrison Hot Springs Area Plenty of crown land jus a 90 mints from Vancover
I don't think you realy look at all I'm from Haida Gwaii and I fond lots of places to go around Vancouver

or move to sask, plenty of hunting over here

SHUT UP!

There is no hunting here. We killed all the animals. They were scrawny and tasted bad anyway. No fish left, either. And no jobs. All the pretty girls move to Toronto or Vancouver as soon as they are old enough. Stay away.

First off don't get Dispondent, join one of the bc. Hunting forums, (there are 3) - hell why not join all three and stick with the one that you feel most comfortable on....

This forum is a national one and you really need to narrow it down a lot.

When I came here 10 years ago, I felt the way you do - few guys will give you the time of day, let alone good pointers especially not on an open forum like this, if they do, guaranteed it will overrun is a matter of days / weeks.

Remember all these great honey holes you hear about or see in trail cam pics, are on public land, so nothing stops you finding them and hunting in them.

If you need any further help or information send me a pm and I'll try and help if I can....

Any direction but south of PG is pretty good more crown/less private land. But that's 10 hours north of you, yet everyone else from the LML seems to make up here come September. I heard it was bad on the island, but ive never heard anyone #####ing about lack of access in BC. Ive never and highly doubt anyone I hunt with has of ever hunting on private land in BC, its like swimming in a pool right beside the ocean. Like ardent said, most of the private land is within a stones throw of the major corridors, get away from them. Bc backroads is a great resource.

Good on you for helping this guy out.
By any chance are you from Africa?

I am so pissed off when I find uninvited people on my land, do the leg work and ask permission. If you don't have permission don't go there. Period.

I am so pissed off.
I came to canada last year and obviously it a very good country.
But I am so pissed off
I used to go to hunt in my home country obeying the rules and regulation.
Ok, now but In here I have gotten all the needed courses and licences.
I am finally ready to go to hunt in the best place in the world for hunting.
Ok but, where ever and where ever I go I see gate, barbed wire and bul#### signs saying this is private land and..,,
I don't know what's going on in here that even forests owned by some ones.
I don't understand it means the government sold out all the land to special people and....

Every single round even small has a gate,,, where are the public lands.
So pissed off
So
If there are some place to go hunting freely without concern and.... Plz tell me
2 or 3 hr far away from Vancouver

Than go back where you came from. Good riddance

That's a pretty ignorant comment even for this forum.

OP's attitude needs correcting, but he's also reaching out to fellow Canadians in his newly adopted homeland. Great opportunity to educate and welcome another into the fold.
