CDTSA Milo CQB Clinic 2- 08/09 Sep 2016 - Debrief here!

EMT Sent.

:eek:D Time to do some practice sighting in for the course days...

I just shoot these matches with a 25m/yd zero. If you do the research on iSnipe or any of you ballistic apps (Android?) you will realize that often (or very close to often) that your 25m zero is /can/may/likely/ very possibly be your 300 m zero (give or take). And that's what's cool about this kind of sighting in and competing at CQB ranges.

I am up to 18 shooters now and I have to cap things at 20 shooters (including point man for CDTSA Milo; Buckaroo) for the 8-9 Sep clinic. Now if you can make 6-7 Sep CQB Clinic, I have lots and lots of room there!

So room for 2 more shooters (8-9 Sep 2016) !!!

And then I have to start a "standby list"

Cheers and warmest regards....

Barney

In for Sept 8/9 (member of CDTSA), if we can swing it.

Can't wait!

Now to find some bigger mags (funny, I only own one PMAG, the rest are LAR mags lol. Maybe I'll just find/make some extensions for them so they can fit a pouch?), and either a shorty upper or a whole new gun... *sigh* the decisions life hands you sometimes....

Date is getting closer....:d

REMINDER for everyone to get your gear setup and checklists done.

I did a bunch of reading and online searches - tried out 100 M, 50M and 25 M and I am now a believer in the 50 yard zero for my loads (well barring more testing and adjusting). Still trying to figure out a comfortable vest/belt setup.

I have lots of room still on the 6-7 Sep dates.

Those of you who are CDTSA Members; space will be made for you on the filled up 8-9 September dates. I have room for you.

Cheers,

It seems the holster I ordered for my new to me gun (Ruger P345) 1911 ish type, won't be here in time for the clinic,

I'm running a regular belt 1.5" if anyone has anything they might think is compatable and is surplus to your needs that day, that would be greatly appreciated.

It's a pretty uncommon firearm but I took a liking to it and was lucky enough to find mags for it In time.
My wife is using my sig226, so I basically bought this firearm just to run this course with, and I liked it (aside from the fact it eats expensive 45)..
Any help would be great

I'm going to check crown surplus today
Sol can doesn't have a blue gun mold so they couldn't even make me one:(

Worst case, if you can't get a holster in time, let me know and I can bring a spare gun and holster for you. I've got a SIG P226 myself that you could use, with a holster, and 5 or 6 mags. My only caveat is that you run factory-made ammo (i.e. not your own reloads) just for my own peace of mind. Any mag pouches you have may not work, but I do have a couple spare mag pouches as well you could run.

Hmmmm Ruger P345.....1911 type, eh? I've got a spare Safariland 6378 (in black... gotta ensure YOUR colour scheme matches, I did teach pottery in HS) for my 1911 9mm Single stack.... that might work for you.

Cheers,

That would be amazing of you!
I don't reload either only shoot factory ammo

I've tracked the holster today and its in California now, hoping it gets on a plane for airmail soon...
I also have 2 extra holsters for the sig 226, and as of right now it looks like my wife will only be able to attend first day
So I may only be short gear for one day.

Krprice
Can I take you up in that offer? I may not need it as hungry has holsters too that may or may not fit,
But options are always good incase one doesn't work,

Sounds like I'm in good company can't wait for Thursday !

Another reminder.

When you plan your route use RR223 please.

Use of RR224 is Prohibited by the liberals.... I mean its not allowed by a condition we have with the county.

Sh#$@#t!! I just realized this is the sept 8/9 thread!! damnit! I'm going on the 6/7th!

I'm really sorry for the mix up... for some reason I was sure we were talking about the tuesday/wednesday class!

If you'd like to talk about borrowing the gun for the course, send me a PM and we'll chat. We could figure something out if you wanted... let me know if I can help.

That's very generous of you !

I will keep that in mind as a last resort but due to my performance at my last range sesh with the 45, I need practice to say the least (accuracy wise) so I will try and shoot this gun.

But once again thank you very much for the offer!

CNC

Hey no worries man sorry for the mix up.

Wish I could do more, but the only holster I have that may fit your gun is a generic nylon one. Totally crappy. But worst comes to worst sent me a pm and we'll see what we can do for you

Does it fit in a normal 1911 holster?

If so, if I know anyone at the course I will just give them one to lend to you. Hell I would just give it to Barney to lend out to you.

I have a Blackhawk Serpa Concealment Holster (in Tan) - for Colt 1911 or clones with OR without rails that I never used (never bought the 1911), if you need to borrow or possibly buy.

Only has the regular belt attachment though - don't have a spare molle back set.

This is it here, its a level 2 retention (won't bounce out when running around and needs trigger release mechanism to get pistol out) But don't be a 'TEX' :
