Regrets...

Well, I'm on a Sig P series kick right now, though I've always loved them. I'm going to try to round out my collection with the whole P22x series, minus the P224. Now I used to own a P228, with a factory threaded barrel, but decided to sell it. Man, do I ever regret that, they are harder than hens teeth to find in Canada. So, I ask CGN this question (perhaps just to know others have similar regrets....):

Which handgun do you regret selling the most, and why?
 
No gun regrets that I loose sleep over. but there are some I miss.

Recent sale: SAM 1911 Commander polished stainless in 9mm - it was a beautiful gun and with new higher prices I wont get one for what I sold it.
years ago: Taurus Raging Bull .44mag stainelss, I had no reason to get rid of it dont even remember why I did it. probably miss it the most
 
I've mentioned it before on here. About 20-some years ago I sold a Smith & Wesson 4505. It was a great shooter and a beautiful gun. Very few were made and I can't find another one anywhere.
 
I sure miss my Hi-Point in .40S&W......................................................................NOT!!!!!
I actually do miss a S&W 617 that I had to sell to raise cash for an emergency snowmobile repair. Frigger I sold it to wont sell it back to me. Hope his skidoo breaks down soon!!
 
I don't regret anything I've sold even though I have re-acquired a couple. but I'm at the point now that I will regret selling anything else.

Being a fan of the magnum autos from the 70s and 80s, I do regret not jumping on an Auto Mag, Grizzly, and Wildey. Not being a reloader, they didn't make sense at the time, but since when did collecting restricteds in Canada make sense?

And 686 shooter, the 4505s are not uncommon on EE so keep eyes open or try a wtb.
 
I picked up a Bren Ten a few years back from the EE—I'd always wanted one. But, 10mm ammo was impossible to find around here then, and I'd read that their frames were sometimes prone to cracking from casting porosity so I sold it (well, traded it to a dealer) without ever shooting it. I'll probably never find another one.

On a related note, I have a bad habit of selling guns then buying the same model a few years (or, um, months) later. In four cases, I've even bought the exact gun back again. That's one way to eliminate regrets!

Canadian Tire always has more gun safes, right?

truthfully i think i inherited the hording gene from my dad, the closest he has ever come to selling a gun was handing me down a couple.

to date i have never sold a gun.

the day that may change, if and when my dad gives me his collection.
somehow i doubt my wife would allow me to have 8 gun safes!
 
Easy one!
I have 2.
One was the unicorn Colt Delta Elite HBAR 20" AR with the full kit. I sold it for $300 in 1996 when it went restricted. The young me thought they would confiscate my rifle and some dealer took me for a ride!

The other was a 5" S&W 610 no dash. I don't shoot revolvers much but I wish I kept this one as I know I'll never get one for what I paid ever again!
 
I regret selling every gun I have ever sold. I can honestly say I have never owned a lemon. Unfortunately, when I want something new, I need to make room for it in the safes. Wife doesn't care how many guns I have. The only rule is I can't buy any more safes. I do miss my HKP7, PGW Coyote, Tavors (yes, owned a few), Swiss Arms and my 14.5" Norinco AR (this gun was an incredibly accurate and reliable AR).

I can relate. I would buy this P228 back in a heartbeat ha. I'm a gun renter, in that I'll buy a gun, try it out, then if I don't love it, will sell it. The hit I take I call my rental fee. Most guns I don't regret selling, like my 686, Glock 22, etc. But I've learned the hard way not to get too crazy in my decluttering phases I guess.
 
man do i ever regret selling my two M1A springfields yrs ago! :(, i even thought to myself as i posted the add "i'm gonna regret this" :p
 
Sold three. One of the first Colt Delta Elite 10mm's in Canada, a S&W 5906 and a Ruger P85 I won in a match in Las Vegas. I don't miss any of them.

Regret getting scared and selling my AK and .22 Minx for cheap in the 90s when the laws were changing.. I did buy my CAR15, to replace the AK, that is one gun I will NEVER sell!


My buddy did not dump them and has a 12(6) I do not.....................

Never going to make that mistake ever ever again!!

Regrets, yup selling my Ithaca 72 .22 lever, and my Colt nickel/satin .45 Commander. :(

Have a Chinese 228 clone, shoots great, like it, dependable, but it is just a tool to me, while my .45 was art.

Sounds like you need to build a dedicated gun room some day, then you could get rid of most of the safes.
 
I wish I'd have kept these two beauties....
