Whaaaat? Please explain "scammer forum"?
What in heck did I miss? Prices were too high for my blood so stopped paying attention to them... seems all the threads are gone and so is Marstar?

100 pages in a nutshell.
Guns were not real T2 garands like John said. They had incorrect receivers, new commercial barrels and a hodge podge of new and used parts.
As for them being unsafe it appears that all of the bolt lugs were welded and then ground to correct heads pace instead of having the chambers reamed like should be done. Also when ground the bolt lugs were ground on an angle leaving maybe 10% at the most contacting the reciever.
Also at least one barrel was loose and could be unscrewed by hand.
After guys were posting pictures John refused to admit any wrong doing and instead resorted to childish name calling.
It was both sad and quite entertaining.
You missed all the fun...! Rifles were cobbled together. Not authentic T2's..Bolt lugs welded & ground. Commercial barrels, not indexed properly. One guy could undo his barrel by hand..!!The list goes on....
LOL...thought I was the only one to miss this sh!! storm. Looks like Marstar misrepresented the quality, construction and provenance of the rifles. Additionally several rifles had parts that were shoddily modified to fit and were So poorly assembled that they were unsafe. The issues were not addressed on the forum by John1 although returns and refunds appear to be successful.
Then Marstar went poof.

Well it seems the English spelling on the e-mails has improved. When I was ordering a $20 part about a year and a half ago, the e-mails that I got from Marstar looked like spam with no official signature or greeting and poor english translation. I nearly got screwed on the iron clad guarantee so I am glad that others, who put more money into Marstar, got their money back.
I also read through some of the 100+ page thread, it was certainly enlightening to say the least.

I just read about this Garand issue. Sad. I remember 5 years ago, how their NOS Lee Enfield parts, that thousands of Canadains were waiting for, turned out to be rusted and cracked disappointments. However U.S. and Brit. companies did come through on those NOS's. Something went wrong.

Tipo2 barrels are conspicuously absent. They list bolts, but I'd be leery about them having welds or grinding. There are some Tipo 2 parts listed, but they are useless w/o the proper barrel.

I got an email from them a couple days ago saying that I have been refunded including shipping both ways.
This whole ordeal still has me shaking my head though. The damage done to Marstar's reputation is hard to calculate and I don't know what they can do or if it is even possible for them to recover from it. I for one cannot see myself ever having the same trust in them I once had. Even the slightest acknowledgement that there was a mistake, that sh!t happens, would have been something.

How is a more civilized, polite, uncensored forum considered a "scammer". At least there you can type CGN and it is nor erased. Try the reverse here, I guess any competition on the internet is a threat to CGN.
