Should I be Pissed??

This is perhaps one of the rites of passage for Canadian gun owners. Promised something by a dealer in "just a couple of weeks" only to wait many months or even longer before it arrives. The rule of thumb is that unless the dealer has the item in stock and there in front of you no one can reliably predict delivery.

All they have to do is tell us that.

Nope, didn't miss it at all. I am simply so accustomed to screw-ups like this at retailers that I would never trust their promises to the point of getting rid of my tried-and-true before I received the replacement, and had a chance to test it out. I really doubt this is the first time this has happened to the OP. Fool me once...

Come on...you're taking time off work, spending money and your precious vacation time on an important hunting trip (they're all important!)...are you going to pin your hopes and plans on a casual off-the-cuff comment made by a near-minimum-wage sales clerk who may have been hired last week, and might be gone before your trip even happens?

Kevan's sig line says it all.

But, beyond my irritation and embarrassment at having been foolish enough to fall for this, I know that I would have another back-up gun waiting in the wings for just such an emergency. The OP states he has one as well...it's just not the gun he hoped and intended to use. So, once again, no need to dwell on the negative. He should look forward to a great hunt and forget this little glitch. :)

You're not wrong, but he, and we, all do have a right to be pissed when we're lied to. Most of us have enough "backups" to bring 4 friends anyway!!!

I'm just pushing on my high horse again that we deserve better.

All it takes is a "man, I honestly don't know. Things show up at random, and i wish could tell you a firm date, but I'd be lying".

To take it a level higher, to the "hidden men" - the distributors - unless it's coming from Finland, why the hell cant you get a rifle to one of your dealers in Canada in a reasonable time?? Trying to save 7$ on shipping?? EE transactions can be done in 48-72 hours and we're "just guys".

All I'm saying is that this could be better, a lot better.

Two weeks is enough time to develop a load and mount a scope if you just get after it, shoot and load every night and don't get distracted by other stuff.

hey whas wrong with the K Montanas? :)

or as mentioned I am sure you could find a Tikka t3 in the best calibre .270winchester and go kill a sheep? factory rounds and scope of choice?
