CREEDMOOR COMING SOON.
AUGUST 24, 2016 JOHN MCQUAY LEAVE A COMMENT
In a recent thread on Accurateshooter.com, Kevin Thomas from Lapua stated that they are currently working on 6.5 Creedmoor brass. This may be the first reason we have to look forward to the 2017 SHOT Show.

“May as well go ahead and drive a stake through the heart of this thread right now; Yes, we currently have 6.5 Creedmoor in to works. We discussed this one at length in Finland during a new products development meeting a few months back. Several of us were pushing this one rather hard, due to the tremendous feedback we’d taken on the cartridge, and the popularity that the cartridge has already earned. Not a big one in Europe, but the US market is a significant share of our business, and we most definitely do listen to customer input. The first set ups are currently being done, and the initial trial run and in-house testing will be done shortly after that. If all goes well, we’ll move on with production and hopefully make the formal introduction of this one during the SHOT show in January.
Hang on guys, it’s coming.”

That was the one hang up I had for the Creedmore, and why I have stuck with the 260 for so long. I guess when my next barrel wears out I will have a decision to make!

When I first made my decision to go 260 over the Creedmoor lapua wasn't even making 260 brass. I used Lapua 243 brass for a couple of years until they released 260 rem. I've always had a Creedmoor itch, so this may be what I need to get one.

The writing has been on the wall for a while that the Creedmoor is here to stay. Its now a standard offering in most of the popular factory tactical precision rifles.

No lapua brass for the 6.5CM pushed me to the .260 in my MH......ah well, "Creedmore" is only marginally cooler to say than "two-sixty".....

I will give props to the Creedmore though for having great factory match ammo that seems readily available (at times!), some days at the reloading bench I wish for the same thing for the 260! Life is so busy with two boys in soccer, basketball and jiu jitsu, that I don't get to the bench until 9-10pm and by then I am wiped.

There is Norma 6.5 Creedmoor brass, but Norma is ridiculously expensive up here. Would rather use Lapua given the choice...

Hopefully Lapua 6.5 prices won't be ridiculously expensive. Great if it was same as 260Rem.

Consensus the 260 crowd went there for Lapua brass.

Remington really dropped the ball on this. Been running "Too ###y" since '12. Little to none for commercial precision rifles offered and less for factory precision loaded ammo. With the addition of readily available 6.5 Creedmore brass from Lapua, 260 remington will be further pushed into obscurity.

I went there because it and the old 6.5 Swede were the only ones in the game at the time. Had the Swede too, real sweet shooter for an old girl, my shooting partner still shoots it as his favourite. The Creedmore will find a spot in my locker eventually, but with 2X 260's, a 308 and a 284 Win, not much need in the middle ground right now. In a few years I might step up to something like a 338 of some description, not sure which one just yet though.
