Very nice !
it would be nice to see a good pic of the complete rifle.

Pics of my new Anschutz. It is the new 54.30 match barrelled action in a BR stock.

Thanks for looking.

And while I'm on Kimbers, here's another--an earlier M82A with Bernie Morrison medium-slightly heavy barrel (.69" at muzzle) in .22 WMR.

With this one, we kept the original stock--which was quite-decent (although not really exceptional) dark claro showing good fiddleback, but reshaped it and added fleur-de-lis checkering, along with a Neidner butt plate, engraved Jerry Fisher grip cap, and inletted sling-swivel studs. Same bottom-metal treatment, with hinged floorplate, as with the 82B above, but different scope-mount treatment, and same trigger work (addition of a 3rd lever), and action pillar-bedded. Also checkered bolt knob and jeweled bolt. All metal cold rust-blued. I've noticed that a rust-blue treatment matches reasonably well with a smooth matte-finish scope.

With this one, I had it chambered specifically for the 33-gr. Remington Accutip-V load. This seemed to be the most accurate .22 WMR load available. I had the chamber cut to minimum specs and the leade cut so that the 33-gr. bullet just touched the rifling. With this setup and load, the rifle will do about 1.0" at 100 yards.

South Pender,
I am not an expert but it seems that the « thingy » at the end of the barrell is designed (if I am not mistaken) for shooters who put an extension tube. It is not a tuner. I might add a tuner some day. For the moment, I brought the rife to the range 3 times and I am ammo testing. So far, I have tested: SK standard plus, Lapua center X, Lapua Midas Plus, Lapua Xact and Eley Tenex. The Lapua stuff shoots good, especially the Midas Plus but strangely the Eley Tenex is not grouping as tight. The rifle is new and I am only beginning to play with it.

It's a beauty, Gilbert. I'm sure that, in time--with some more ammo testing done--you'll be shooting really tiny groups with it. With the new Anschutz match (two-piece) chamber and excellent barrel, it has to be a winner.:)

Anschutz 1712 (wing safety model) restocked by Canyon Creek Custom Gunstocks (LeRoy Barry and Connie Barry, who does the exquisite checkering).

AAA+ claro walnut checkered by Connie Barry with a wrap-around ribboned fleur-de-lis pattern, glass-bedded; checkered bolt knob, jeweled bolt; Neidner butt plate, looking-glass grip-cap; one-piece Canyon Creek bottom metal, Cooper magazine cover; inletted sling-swivel studs; S&K sculptured projectionless scope mounts (with windage adjustment), Leupold 4.5-14 AO scope; Anschutz 5096 trigger lightened to about 10 oz. Gloss scope chosen to match the high-polish bluing done by LeRoy.

South Pender, you have a bevy of beauties. That Canyon Creek stock is gorgeous.
Thanks for the kind words. I didn't commission the Canyon Creek rifle. I purchased it from a guy who had it built--a guy I think you probably know of, Camster. On the Kimbers, I did commission them a couple of decades ago to be built by Ed LaPour (metal) and Bruce Farman (wood), a couple of members of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild who often collaborate on projects. I have two more projects sitting in Ed's and Bruce's shops awaiting attention--one a Sako Finnfire and the other an Anschutz 1720.

Don't know if any of these fit in this thread but here's 4 of my favorite bolt action rimfire rifles.

Oldest first:

'57 Brno Model 4 with a Klinsky checkered target stock, B&L 4200 36x in Warne 16mm rings. Still have the original sights set for it, both iron and rear diopter.

'58 Brno Model 5 with the checkered pistol grip beech stock, all original.

'81 Remington 541-S with the very rare factory iron sights option.

And finally a Weatherby MK XXII on the Anschütz 64 action.

I just recently acquired a beautiful Anschutz Super Match barreled action with two stocks from a very considerate and generous friend who treasures his rifles. The original stock is a 1413 and the one with the scope mounted is a 1411. I'm looking forward to trying it out this weekend.
