Scoping a BSA

Today was good for me, I found a well used but quite nice BSA Featherweight in 7X57.
Now I'm in the cleanup process and mounting a scope, a stubby little Burris 2-7X35.
My question is this and hopefully we have a Brit or two out there with an answer.
I'm using a set of Parker-Hale rings that I had, nice and strong but a bit ungainly looking on the small action.
My question is this..... the rings themselves have a huge handscrew on one side, now which side should I mount the screw ? On the ejection port side or the solid receiver side ?
To my way of thinking it isn't very pretty either way so no matter ?
Any thoughts appreciated on this fellas..

Also be VERY careful not to overtighten the mount crossbolts as the steel used in the screws is very soft and will break much easier than the usual hardened allen head screws. I know this from bitter experience.

Thanks for the reminder Mike, after having several BSAs I well remember.
My only concern with this one is that it will not eject a case, extract but not eject so I will be on a parts hunt today.
Otherwise a fine little rifle.
