pretty straight forward I have a cow elk tag and will be hunting with a older winchester model 70, 270 win. I do not reload and want to know the best over the counter round for elk.

If I were doing so the first factory I'd want to try is the federal trophy bonded tip my son uses it in his .308 very accurate in his rifle and very good bullet performance I wish they were available as a component bullet after that I'd try the fusion best thing is to find what shoots great
Cheers Tony

The Nosler factory loaded 140gr Accubond, or the Federal Premium 150gr Partition / Trophy Bonded Tip load would get my vote.

But you'll have to find what shoots best.

I use the Hornday Interbond in .308, works well in my rigs..
I am sure the Interbond would perform just as well in .270, worth a test ride if you are experimenting, cheers..

Any decent bullet from 130gr to 160gr will be more than lethal for a cow elk. Using whatever your rifle shoots best is the key. A well placed 130gr nondescript SP through the lungs beats a Trophy Bonded Bear Claw in the guts every time.

Barnes Vortx goes good on Sambar, costs an arm an leg down here tho..
Will work fine a Elk.

Or try Federals with Accubonds
Worst case a 150gr Corelokt
Go get yer Elk
