1911 Magazine Recommendations?

I bought a used 1911, came with one really pathetic, probably 30 year old, looking magazine. Definitely going to need more than one, and don't even really trust this one. There are obviously a ton of magazine options for 1911's, so what are people finding to be the most reliable overall? Mecgar, Colt, Wilson, Chip? What say you CGN?

I have Nighthawk (8 round), Wilson(8), Remington(8) and McCormack(10). All of them work flawlessly in my Ruger 1911.

I read all the warnings about cheap mags and took the advice of many buying WC ETM mags. Never had a single problem. I was also given some 10 round CM mags with a purchase. They too have functioned flawlessly - although I have to say they feel a bit like a pressure washer wand at the car wash. I am considering purchasing a few of the (ridiculously cheap) Dlask mags, just because I've had this dream of showing up at a match with enough mags that I don't need to reload any of them, :) About 18 - 20 mags should do it.

.... of course, if it were a two day match...............................................

Rob!

I have no experience with the high-end magazines, mainly just with the available ones that I bought for four 1911 pistols that I have owned over the years.
(Colt Series 70, WW2 Remington Rand, Springfield Armory, and Ruger SR1911)

Of them all, I thought that the Ruger stainless magazines that came with my SR1911 were extremely well made.
They might be more available than some of the more high-end magazines and just as good.
Certainly the pistol is excellent.

The original Ruger mags worked fine to begin with but over time 500-600 rounds the feed lips started to spread and they would not feed properly. I think the metal is a bit soft for long term durability or maybe I just got a couple of bad ones. All the other ones I have used are still fine.

Looks like in going to have to order a couple Dlask mags. Had my Norc at the range today and the 7 rounder that came with it #### the bed, the follower and the feed lips are all bent to hell and it was misfeeding with aggravating regularity. The 8 rounder that it came with was better, but still choked up occasionally.
