I believe this is a Fisher. Taken south of North Bay Ontario.
What say you?

Likely one less porcupine in the area.
Great pic. See them once in a while,first one the wife saw freaked her out, she didnt realize how big they get.
 
Mostly see American (pine) martens around where we deer hunt. It's been a while since I've seen a fisher actually. Very cool animals.

They don't play real well together. A marten can catch a squirrel in the trees or out-run a rabbit on the ground. A fisher can catch a marten in the trees or on the ground.

I get a few, but have more martens.

 
Mink are short haired critters and Fishers are long haired. Pictures looks to be short haired animal but the Fisher hasn't got his winter fur yet. The bushy tail is a dead giveaway. If you had one of each in front of you, there is no mistaking the difference between them.
Fishers also have a lighter colored body area and darker tail, as the animal in the picture, whereas, mink are one color.
