Cool new AK type shotgun from Turkey

that dude is a real buzz kill. With the Type 81 coming....you never know. Though, I won't hold my breath. Don't kill my buzz with the negative vibes dude :p

The type 81 isn't an AK. The operating system is different.

Negative waves? Unhappy facts are still facts. This thing operates and tears down just like any other AK. Trigger did this same thing before with the Straight Pull Bolt Action Rifle and got everyone riled up.

"It been approved by the lab! We spoke to them and it is all a go!"

Yup. Sure.

...and P7's from the Mid East, and a stock of Valmets and .......there were others. Sick of it.

It will not hit our market with the name "AK" style shotgun if the RCMP have their way. Why do importers continue to promote firearms with a particular name when it has zilch to do with the namesake?

Strangely, that looks exactly like a really large version of the 2 AK's I owned - the bolt, and carrier, gas piston assembly, safety - can't really see the trigger group from the bit I watched, but I'm guessing the BCG/Piston are enough - so what about it has nothing to do with its namesake? I don't like the lab (don't like Etter or Smith either), and I frequently have described them as incompetent and corrupt and political, and worse - but seriously, they'd have to be crack addicts NOT to call that an AK. So what was the point of even bringing it up? Well, like the "straight pull bolt actions" (that were initially suggested to be semi-auto rifles with just enough differences to be legal despite looking exactly like an AK) it certainly sucks in the gullible.

I'll donate $100 to the CSSA legal fund if you can get Trigger Wholesale to post a picture of those 50 guns showing the factory label on the box and the contents.

To get the import certificate, you need to specify what you are bringing in.
DFAIT don't like mystery or being lied to, so they want the FRT# for each firearm.
You can get an IIC for a gun without an FRT as a sample for the RCMP.
You would have to sing and dance pretty hard to get 50 samples.

It sounds like BS to me.

This...

Found this info at Rita Shotguns on Facebook. The FD63 shotgun comes in 12ga, 20ga and 410ga. Same gun Trigger Wholesale is bringing in, or saying they are bringing in, as not an AK variant.... Not only does it look like an AK, but more importantly it functions like an AK exactly. Don't hold your breath. If you think this is all negative waves, blame TW for getting your hopes up. It is on them.

didn't everyone say the same thing about the AR looking shotguns???

No. Not even close.

The internal design of those guns is nothing like an AR-15.
External cosmetics is the only thing they have in common with an Armalite rifle.

On the other hand; This gun is quite simply a Saiga-12, which is already banned in Canada.

The internal design is exactly the same as the Saiga/AK design.
It has everything in common with the Kalashnikov rifle.

I do believe you're wrong on this one. None of the internals are interchangeable with the saiga. Totally different receiver, magazines are proprietary, no other magazine currently sold in Canada will fit.

How about a $100 donation to the CCFR instead, if I can get you this picture?

So like the Mutant is to the AR15...

"Interchanging parts" isn't the only thing the RCMP look at to determine mechanical lineage. The operating system as a whole is looked at as well. The outward design of the firearm, and how the internals function, will slam this thing right into the AK variant field.

I'm just going by what I'm seeing in the videos.

Watch this video from the 5:00 mark onward.

Then watch this video.

It looks like the exact same design to me.

Maybe someone with computer talent can post some side-by-side screen pics for comparison?
