PROJECT NEA 25 = 5.56 (223 Rem) Non restricted black rifle ??????

I didn't realize firearm classification determines whether a manufacture makes a good product or not. Makes sense :jerkit:

We are talking about my opinion of NEA changing. It was my understanding this was supposed to be created as an NR firearm, therefore would have changed my opinion of them actually delivering something we expect and want, it is not an NR firearm, therefore my opinion hasn't changed.

I know we don't like the government of Quebec but I saw Vince05 ask a legitimate question about the NEA rifle. I don't think he wanted to be lectured on whether he should leave Quebec or the language issue. We would all be better to leave politics out of this forum and focus on putting our collective countrywide (including Quebec) group of gun owners together (there are many 100,000's of us) and get some MPs who support us into the federal govt ranks regardless of party or province of residence. Sorry for the rant and the hijack folks.

I'm not holding my breathe that it will happen, but I still hope it does. Would be awesome to have an inexpensive alternative to blowing $5k+ only to sell it on EE a few weeks later.

Elaborate on why you think NEA sucks.

Politics and Canadian firearm ownership are one and the same even if your in denial.

And a non restricted status would change your opinion of quality issues. You have issues !!!

no, 2 different issues, quality and product management. Good product management with an AR style rifle in NR which is what everyone wants here would have helped, but thats moot now, therefore only shoddy quality remains.

Come on an inexpensive 7.62x51 semi.-auto. NR Black Rifle in Canada. Even the poorly built ones we have now are around $3,000 (okay the FNAR for under $2,000 is the deal right now for NR .308 semi.'s) so I wouldn't expect NEA to offer any newly designed/manufactured rifle to be significantly less then the rest.
Inexpensive (say $1,500 or less) forget about it (not that it's going to happen anyways), but it would most likely come in around $2,500 if we were lucky and with teething issues a plenty no doubt since we all would likely be the beta testers (much like most other companies new NR Black rifles).

While I'm usually in agreement with you MildCustom2, you need to read the posts a little better because Mike's reasons are present and accounted for.

Standing next to Deagle at poco when his exploded, then checking to see if I had any bleeding holes in my body, was enough for me to make my opinion.

Come on Mike it only happened once, from the loyal NEA fans here you think it would need to happen several times before they would accept there's issues with NEA's quality control (among other things...).

Cheers D

Just curious, why would anybody buy this so called NR AR 10? Because it's cheap? I've been here for 3 years and have read numerous threads ,regarding NEA ,s poor quality rifles. What would make their cheap AR10 so different?
Maybe they've fixed their issues.. But that only matters to people who don't know they had issues.

Because there is a silent majority, and lots and lots of the same online players trash talking. Maybe with cause, maybe not, but objectivity went out the window a long time ago.

Yes ,I've pretty much seen all the threads. Sure ,some do have a hate on for NEA, but they are justified somewhat. I have seen quite a few issues posted. It seems to be a gamble at best , with the odds in favour of the house. I got no experience ,what so ever with NEA, but I wouldn't even consider it an option.

Quite simply. NEA had all the help they needed to fix the issues they were having. They chose the cost saving route.

Ask yourself why the sharp edges on the mag well.... and the square forward assist housing... and the grey anodizing.... and the... you get the point.

Areo precision. Arma lite. Dpms. Bushmaster. All make similar priced rifles that are better.

And norinco makes a cheaper one that is better.

I have owned a few ARs.... and the only one I didn't like was the NEA.

That said I wish them the best and hope they step up their game... a budget Canadian made AR is something to support.... as long as it is at least as good as the competition.
