I don't want to be waiting for a rifle while every other dealer sells these for less eight months before you get them in.
It happened before and I don't want to be stuck in the middle of it happening again.

Also the Q3 arrival date, are their any guarantees on this date or is it going to turn into Q2 next year like every other preorder I've seen. Do you have any guarantees from the manufacturers that they will deliver on time with penalties for them if they don't. It's what we do in business not sure if you can, it would be nice if you tried.

Last question, if we prepay are the prices locked in or will you raise the prices like you did for the famae mags when they finally arrived. I wasn't too impressed with that move and want to know why we should trust you this time not to do the same?

thanks in advance for your replies
CAD-spec rifle is exclusive to poly. Poly is exclusive to us.

We were told a date by the manufacturer, but by saying Q3 we have some leeway in case of delays. It is not a guarantee however production is already booked, they have their deposit and we are in the midst of making arrangements to visit the factory to inspect the shipment.

Prices are locked in. Famae 542 mags were offered at cost pricing for all famae pre-order customers. Only those that did not pre-order were charged mag prices with a small margin

Don't laugh. Uncle Bob is a mean dancer when he's liquored and his shirt comes off.

More then likely yes you are right but to me I just want this stock. I love the look of it the way it is

Nothing wrong with stock, like the cz, nothing wrong with original furniture and some wear and tear.
If I have the dough, would love to have two, one modded and one plain-Jane would be awesome.

Apparently, you do not know me. Experienced in both fields. One more than the other.

So, you are, or were, a firearms vendor, or worked for one? Anyone we know?

If what you do, for commerce, is import firearms and you project an estimated date, I would assume that your experience...

Who said TI "projected" a date? Perhaps that was the date given to them by the manufacturer, or wholesaler, or whatever middle-man they may be dealing with. But all this aside, they were esitmated to be here by the end of the month, which hasn't come and passed yet, so I don't get why you're (still) going on about this. People asked for an update, TI said they didn't have one. So why not just wait until the end of the month, and see what happens. If they show up, great! If they don't, then hopefully TI will have an update by that point, and then go from there...

If they were going to be here at the end of the month, they would be on a boat headed here and likely destined for customs before being released to TI for order filling. If they were on the boat. I would expect that to be a significant update worthy of posting about.

Of course, TI has stated no updates.

Just for the sake of clarity...

OK, so if they were on the boat, and TI posted "Hey, they're on the boat!"... would that make everyone feel better? Will the boat get here on time? Or be delayed? Once it's here, will the rifles zoom through customs, or be delayed for months? I don't see what difference it makes, knowing if they're "on the boat" right now or not...

Of course, TI has stated no updates.

Well, they did post this; (yesterday)

Sorry guys no further updates, nothing to report.

You can only update if you have an update to give

What else is there to say? Might as well wait for the end month, then see...

Man... these pics are killing me. We're not even allowed to have these, and if we could, we could make them look sooo good, and yet these guys more AKs that you can shake a stick at and they make them look like turds.

It would be something worth updating. Being built, on the boat, stuck in customs, getting boxed up ready to ship.

Or would you just prefer silence until there is a Canada Post missed delivery sticker on your door?

There have been a lot of assumptions, and a lot of rours, but nothing from TI to actually say where this whole operation is in the process.

So far I know they have my money.... and that is it. I could go into the rumours I've heard, but those wouldn't be verified and thus not worth muddying the matter more.

Hey, I get it... we're in the age of instant everything, especially info. People like to know what's going on, whether it really makes a difference or not. But the guy just said he didn't have any info right now. That could change tomorrow. But either way, I think what people want to know most is if they're going to get their rifle on time, and right now there is nothing to suggest they won't. Some people, like yourself, are being perfectly reasonable about it, some however, are not. All the hounding, and rumour spreading (as you say) is not helping anything, nor is it bound to change anything.

I don't need instant info. I would like some sort of info though. What has TI really said at all in the last several months as to the current production and importation status of this gun?

Did they travel to China?

Is the gun in production?

Is Polytech waiting for full payment on the order of 1000 before starting production?

Have they shipped/in transit?

Are they at customs?

Not one of these questions has been answered ever by TI. Lots of people have made assumptions. Lots have expressed opinions. Some have mentioned rumours. And many of these assumptions, opinions and rumours have been misread as actual fact relating to the import as none of them have come directly from TI.

So..... what do we really know about the Type 81 production. Since we have not ever had an update on where the production process actually sits.

There is nothing to suggest the rifle will be late. But, there is nothing to suggest it will be on time either.

Because there is no update.

Well, when they posted yesterday that they had no update, why not reply to that with those questions? If, after a few days they don't reply back with answers. try emailing, then calling. If TI refuses to respond to multiple inquiries by multiple means, then I'd say there was possibly an issue. If people really want info, it doesn't hurt to be proactive.

This is their forum. They can read the questions whenever they like. They have all been asked before by others...

But no answer. I'm paying them, why do I also have to invest more of my time to chase them down to determine the status of my investment?

And yes... that is rhetorical.

How bad do you wanna know?

As bad as everyone else that has asked repeatedly, but yet been told nothing but "we have no update".

Does TI not know the status of their partnership with Polytech on this venture? That's a lot of money for a dealer to spend and not know what is going on with their partner.

So again... TI. At what phase of production / transit / importation are they Type 81's? Are they being built? Have you travelled to China to view the plant as you said you were planning? Or has China not yet started production?

Sounds like some reasonable questions. In turn, I just them a pm with a link to your post, to get the ball rolling.

I don't know how often they check the forum, or their pm's for that matter, but if I don't get a reply soon, I'll try emailing next.
