So I was to the range today with my new S-tac 3-16 and decided I need more mag. So it's going on the EE.
I've had the SHV 5-20 and liked it, but was wondering how it compares to the S111 6-24.
Hirsch has both for about the same price.
It'll be going on my .223 for now and then get moved to my .308.
Used for target practice only.
I want to use the dials for not the sub extensions for diff distances.
I think both should track well .
Clarity is what I'm after

Im in the same boat as you are. I was looking at the Sightron first then decided that I should just buy the SHV 5-20 instead. There was one on the EE that I drop the ball on. :(

I am running an SHV 5-20 on my 300 win mag and love it I also run an NXS 8-32 on my .284 and an ATACR on my .338 so my opinion may be somewhat biased lol

Off the top of your head. DId you notice any difference between the SHV and your Stac?

Im running vipers right now and was just trying to get a idea of the differences.

The SHV 5-20 was way better than the stac3-16, but it should be for twice the price . I'm just wondering which of the two has the better clarity.

Just giving this thread a bump as I would like to know if theres a diff too. :)

They're both about the same cost, I know the SHV is clear, but wonder if the S111 is any better and would the extra 4 power make much difference .
I would think at the same price they would be pretty equal in clarity.

Oh do they maybe come in FFP and SFP?

EDIT: The one I was looking at, was
SIGHTRON - SIIISS 6-24X50 LRMOA .250 MOA - MOA-2
Model: S 25127
for $1354

Yes I seen that one, there's a couple with ffp for $1500 and one sfp.

1350 for the s111 or 1550 for SHV.
I know the SHV is good but not sure about the S111.
I just sold my stac 3-16 , it was ok , good for hunting , but not as good as what a dealer was saying. So I'm a bit sceptical about the sightron .

Well I hope someone chimes in here that has played with both, because I got 1700 saved up here and its burning a hole in my pocket. heh :)

$1700 gets you a VX 6. 3-18 , I'm looking hard at that also lol. There's also a night force nxs on the EE for 1900.

Heh Ive been eye ballin that NSX alot myself. Just wish it was closer cause Im kind of a lil worried about sending that amount of emt to someone that I dont know that well. If you know what I mean. :D

Id have 300 more if I could sell this damn inflatable kayak I have for sale locally.

The reticle in the S111 have a dot in the middle, at least the cheaper models do anyway. That's a nogo for me. Part of the reason why I sold my stac. Looks like it's the SHV.
Regards to sending that much money, you have to look at the feedback remarks, then decide. I've been involved in a few $1500 + deals, both as a seller and buyer . Went smooth enough.

After a lot of thought , I think I'll drop the sightron off my list and add the VX 6 3-18.
It gets complicated hey.
I was looking through a Bushnell elite 6500 LRHS FFP. It's a very nice piece of glass. I didn't like that it was a mil/mil system though.
