For all we know, TI is in China right now, hence the lack of communication. But you have no reason, at least that I've seen so far, to fear these being late.

But again, if this is so important to you, and judging from all your comments thus far it is, why haven't you tried contacting TI?

Why not just ask questions on the thread about the preorder?

No reason, other than a lack of communication. I have tried contacting them. Right here, repeatedly, in their sponsored forum, for all to see the information they might post to the questions posed to them. They have been online since. These questions aren't new.

How about something simpler...
- We went to the factory as planned.
- Production has started.
- Product has shipped from China.
- Product has landed at Canada Customs.
- Product is at our warehouse.
- Product is being shipped to you.

Since my money has been in TI's hands, not one of the above key points in delivery of the stated product has been address. The only updates this project has had are...
- We have submitted a sample to the lab.
- We have a R and NR FRT entry successfully obtained.
- We would like you to pay in advance for a gun planned for delivery in 2016 Q3.
- Everything is ok. Things are going as planned. Nothing to say or see here.

I've heard more from outside sources that I have from TI. And what I'm hearing is leading me to have serious doubts.

You know, I gotta ask... before you sent your money, were you promised some type of regular schedule of updates, like the one you've laid out above?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's unreasonable, and if a business were to voluntarily provide such updates, that would be good customer service on their part. In this case, there haven't been many updates, but if they weren't promised, and the most recent update so far is that everything is on track, and there is nothing to contradict that, then I don't see the problem...

I was thinking more along the lines of factory progress updates every two months or so. There are two weeks left in Q3, why do people fight for their right to be kept in the dark on this thread? They said they were going to do a factory visit and an accuracy display etc. Those two things would be greatly appreciated I'm sure. No one has said anything about wanting an inconsequential twitter feed.

You really think people are "fighting for their right to be kept in the dark" here...?

i hear ya on that if i knew more id have already bout a second...maybe a 3rd and with the way this country is and imports get banned or something its anyones guess and i could totally see that given how the government is run here.....load up on every non restricted you can...and even multiples (my issue) 2 of everything i like lol...the day they land TI will be sold out cut and dry

It'll be especially painful for me. The arrangement I have with my two friends is one of them will get the folder, the other the fixed, and I'd wait for the LMG variant. If imports get banned I'd be the comrade with no new toy :'(. I'd get a folder right now if I had any suspicion that there would be a ban. What can you do right? Keep your eyes on relevant news...

Funny interpretation of why they haven't sold all. The social media thing was funny too. Regardless, you would have to have an extra chromosome to feel these things will sell out if another 6 months passes; that IS if there isn't a change in communication. I'd like to think most understand the concerns and questions are about transparency, NOT how long they are taking to get here. :)

"transparency"

Of course.

I bet you check your phone often. ;)

Why do people even get involved in pre-orders if they don't a) trust the vendor b) understand that not everything in the gun importation world runs on a perfect schedule?

AH well...The guns will show up at some point.

I sent them money, I expect updates. Otherwise I take my money back and they can fund this project some other way. Without customers to front the money for the pre-order, this wouldn't be happening.

I don't need to know when hand guards get added, or barrels pressed, or varnish applied. I do think it is reasonable to get more than some sort of "don't worry, everything is going as planned."

I'm not the only one that thinks so. The other thread is revealing people walking away from the pre-orders. Oddly enough, on a Sunday, the refunds have been processed by TI. So they are around.

If they gave a little more info, they'd have a little more money in their pocket to get things moving.

Personally, I'm a huge AK fan and I'll buy anything in this country that resembles it...lol. I do check my phone often, at least I'll admit it. :)

Why do businesses start pre-orders if they can't deliver as advertised or understand they are now in a contractual business relationship with their customers? If you expect customers to front the money to fund your business ventures, you better understand that the customers will want feedback.

Otherwise businesses should put up the funds themselves, keep quiet, and sell the product when they have it in hand, if they don't want to have to be accountable to their partners.

Why not just ask questions on the thread about the preorder?

Hey, we all know that there are wide degrees of interaction among the forums here with the various vendors on this site. Some are regulars, some don't bother. Some businesses have multiple staff with some dedicated to monitoring social media, some are one-man shows working from their homes with little time for anything.

But consider this, even if you have a package with a tracking number, you still have to go to your computer, go the website and look it up. Here, you are going to effort of signing into CGN, finding this thread and looking for updates.

The guy's email and phone number are right in the OP. What's so hard about picking up the phone? ...as opposed to all the effort you've expended thus far waiting for updates to "come to you"...?

Well, again, if this is so important to you, why limit yourself to this forum? Why not call or email? Seems it would take just about the same amount of effort...

I hear you. I dunno, I just figure this thread is full of fellow AK fans and we should get the news together.

Who says I haven't. Like I said, however, it is their forum. An open answer to all involved would be preferred. I'm not liking what I'm hearing more from outside TI than I am from them.

You on the pre-order?

A few people, yeh it seems like that. Do you really think people are requesting info on things like this "Wing-Chu, the shipping foreman, took a dump this afternoon, nice and firm!"?

Your questionable grasp of sarcasm aside, I think that, yes... some people here may have unrealistic expectations.

T.I is playing there cards close and they are one day soon gonna be all 81s are here and shipped out to buyers! And oh screw you naysayers updates are over rated.

what have you been hearing????? and wheres that guy who was giving all the "supposed" information that his brother or cousin worked in the factory where the type 81s are being made?

Your questioning my grasp of sarcasm? *Gasp. Unrealistic in what way? This thread is full of investors that are merely asking for some transparency in regards to progress and status. There hasn't been any form of update (except those pictures), since the beginning of Q2, now at the end of Q3 we know nothing new. You did investors a disservice by mimicking their reasonable questions with that asinine list, my response was appropriate.

i hold onto this as well.....the next update will be " there are arrived in canada" and ready to ship this week! for all we know they are currently in the container floating on over here as we speak!
