Question about a new Colt Canada bolt

Do they come pre lubricated? I got one from Nordic Marksman and figured I'd take it apart to clean out whatever machining oil was in there and lube it. But when I started taking it apart it seems like it's already oiled. Is this correct or am I imagining things?
 
Yes. Gun grease from the factory. Best to shoot it till it wears off. Unless you are using froglube then clean it of because a petroleum based oil/ product will react with it. If you are using other traditional oils like say breakfree no worries.
 
Ive used gunzilla in my other guns and always been happy so I figure I'll use it once the cc stuff wears off. Would you recommend lubing the outside of the bolt before installing?
 
I'd wipe off the packing oil and use breakfree or g96. I soaked the bcg in g96 couple times before assembling it wet. I find a wet ar runs fairly well. Easy to clean too.

add oil keep it wet always, don't worry about it. I have never used Gunzilla but as long as its petroleum based you should be fine, check with the manufacture of Gunzilla. I prefer Breakfree my self it has always worked the best without any hassles. Fireclean/Froglube seems to be the rave but for me degreasing my guns before use is too much a pain in the ass.

Maybe I will just disassemble, clean and relube.
 
Did yours come with a NSN sticker on the plastic bag or plain plastic and no sticker? I picked up one from Nordic Marksman and it was dry and you could feel the grittiness of the bolt, carrier, etc., rubbing against one another. It definitely needed to be stripped and properly oiled.

Plastic bag. The exterior of the carrier was bone dry, but the firing pin, bolt itself and the interior of the carrier were wet and had what smells like gun oil on them

yeah, my bag from SFRC (complete IUR rifle) was filled with oil. I mean you couldn't touch the interior of the bag without getting drenched in oil. It was heat sealed with a colt canada factory sticker on it with date code. The BCG had zero wear, and it looked unfired. But the rifles bore was an entirely different story, I couldn't believe the crap that came out of the bore! Hole bunch of red crap came out with wipeout. But knowing that they were test fired at factory made me feel a bit better cleaning the dirty bore.
 
Yup they're oily, I opened over 200 bags of them and I will probably have cancer next year because of it :p
