The motor isn't starting. Might be pooched. This happened with my Lyman. Found I could sometimes get it running by flipping the fan as it was turned on.

Nothing is spinning. It would start if I shook it a bit but not anymore. And yes I have it on a piece of carpet. Keeps the sound down when I run it over night.
I just removed the bottom plate , gave it a couple of shots of gun oil, and it started working again . How do you keep it from spinning in circles , until it chokes itself out with the cord
No rubber feet on the base? find some small rubber fuel or air hose split it and place it over the lip on the base leave opening between sections of the hose. If that don't work you have a problem.
