Where to shoot long distance South Shore Nova Scotia?

I am more interested in crown land! Let me know!

A fairly rare Canadian trivia fact outside of the Maritime region;

For some unknown reason for several decades now, the pundits in Halifax that run the NS government have seen fit to make the innocent practice of informal long gun target shooting on rural crown land a crime against provincial statutes.

Formal range or hunting season while actually hunting and that's all folks!

You know what? It pretty much makes unrestricted firearms, Nova Scotia restricted, outside the regular hunting season. That is the really the purview of the feds IMO. :(

Hope that cancer they have in NS doesn't spread :(. You blue nosers really need to work on that. (No target shooting with NR's on crown land outside of hunting season). :mad:

NS has a very real poaching issue, so if you have a rifle in the woods outside of a hunting season, you are deemed a poacher. NB make you get an ATT to move your rifle to a range outside of the hunting season for the same reasons.

Yeah, Nova Scotia is not the place to shoot long range target. Or really enjoy your non restricted rifles.

It's actually a pretty good place for competitive target shooting out to 800 meters, just not so great for those who want to shoot gongs, pumpkins and TV's on crown land.

Poachers are criminals and criminals by their very nature & actions don't follow the rules (laws) regardless.

Agreed, but, knee jerk reactions are more common than common sense of late.
Perhaps knee-jerk reaction but more likely a excuse used by an anti government to push their agenda into law. Difficult to get such BS laws reversed. Just another facet of active "gun control" in Canada.
