So I have an older Rem 1100 with both wood and synthetic stocks. I bought a Limbsaver Precision Fit Recoil Pad, model # 10101 that specifies it fits Rem 870, 1110 and 11-87 synthetic stocks (among others). Of course with my luck, it doesn't fit. Any idea what gives? Is my stock not a standard 1100 stock perhaps?

If the retailer is close by why don't you take the pad back and compare with other unopened packages. Might be a screwup in packaging from the manufacturer, wrong pad in right box.

Edited to add: Is your stock Remington-made or from a third party?

This is the stock I have. Can't return the Limbsaver unfortunately as it was purchased while I was visiting Vancouver and I live in Terrace.

Where is the picture of the stock with the original recoil pad removed?
Btw, the original is good enough for the 1100 if one where to ask me.
But, I understand I'm not the only one who likes to fix things till they break...

The original in this case is hard as a hockey puck and hurts quite a bit to use. I've been using the wood stock until now but the weather is starting to turn and the wood gets quite slick.

Can it be mounted without the part that is designed to fit into the stock? I bought a limbsaver pad for a mossberg that was designed to use the extra spacer to fit into a synthetic stock, but also fit a wood stock with the spacer removed. By the looks of it though, that pad was not made to ever fit that stock
