Bend Stock

There is a fellow north of Montreal - Alain Combes that does bending. He has one of those new fangled infra-red powered jigs .... I haven't tried him - perhaps some of the folks from "La Belle Province" can assist.

Are you sure you need a bend? Sounds like you may just need a "fit". A good stock smith can do this by shaving the stock where it meets the receiver. Klaus Hiptmayer is a stock maker located in Eastman Quebec who offers this service. I've had my shotgun fit by him along with other custom stock work. He is very well known and highly regarded. give him a call it would be worth the drive to see him!!

Its a Browning White Lightning in 16ga does not need much bend just a tad to get my eye over the centre -- probably between 1/16 to 1/8"

Grouser, it's a 28" barrel gun, right? I'm hoping you don't find someone to bend it so I can buy it. LOL

Have you checked with Chris Dawe in Nfld?

I think osbourne may be onto something given the little bit of movement required.

Yes, Alain does that, he was formed in Belgium and while I didn't have him adjusting a stock for me, I've seen some of his work and it was right. He also is the Zoli importer.
Donno what his lead time is, though.. as he usually have a loaded schedule... He speech english and is phone is (514)-948-4334

Grouser:

I would highly recommend Klaus Hiptmeyer: 750 Chemin du Contour, (Box 136) Eastman, PQ, J0E 1P0 ( between Magog & Granby - east of Sherbrooke, just off Hwy 10)
Phone 450 297-0668. That's about a 9 hour drive from Fredericton via Grand Falls/Riviere-du-Loup.

Chris Dawe is also fully capable: 29 Angler's Place, Seal Cove, Conception Bay South, NL, AiX 6M5 709 744-2609.

He has patterning facilities right at his shop ... it may be worth a weekend vacation in la Belle Province for a fitting. He is busy, but very
accommodating.

Thanks guys -- I have used Klaus for years but heard he retired for serious medical reasons. I'm going to wait a bit until the "New" Sweet Sixteen I have on order shows up -- they come with a shim kit. My Merkel 2 barrel set and my 201E 16 have become my go to O/U's.
Cheers, John
