Bought a box of factory ammo at Cabelas for the brass. 3 F/L sizes, 2 N/Size+ factory=6 firings. I didn't have a N/S die at first, otherwise I would have probably only F/L sized once. I pushed the velocity to the top end once, then to 70gr of IMR4064 under a 270gr Hornady/Speer for the rest of the reloads. Using a bent paper clip, I found quite a bump in the inside of the cases, that my new brass didn't have. I crushed to mouths and junked that 20. New brass is WW SUPER, which I'll use 20 at a time.

I have once fired 338 RUM FC Nickel cases that i cannot use because the primers pockets are too loose ! Push the primers in with your finger ! JUNK they are ! RJ
If the brass was originally fired in your rifle I'm not sure why you think you need to FL size the brass. By doing that you are pushing the shoulder back allowing the case to headspace on the belt and stretch just forward of the belt on each subsequent firing. That is the bump you are feeling with your bent paper clip.Back your FL die out about a half turn from touching the top of the shellholder and you will not push that shoulder back. Even with the small shoulder on the 375 the case can headspace on the shoulder. if you do not push that shoulder back the case will have literally zero headspace and the cases will last a long time.I have some 375 cases that have been fired around a dozen times with no problems. If you are stretching primer pockets with a couple firings with 70 grs of 4064 you may want to back off 2 or 3 grs.

You didn't actually read my post. Go back and pay attention to the things I wrote. I didn't have a n/s die originally, hence the reason for the f/l sizing, but you didn't read that far. The only reason I would use a paper clip is if I was aware of how and why the bump was created. 6 firings, FC brass, one of those was pushing hard, yes by chrono. I posted to inform those who are curious about brass life. I have to f/l every 4-6 with my '06, I think most do. I don't shoot cowboy loads, just middle of the table velocities, yes by chrono.

Yes I did read your post. I don't think you read mine ! If you would have taken the time to read what I wrote you might have understood you didn't need to buy that neck size die. You could have accomplished the same thing by backing off your FL die. I was hoping to pass that info on to you and to others, but since you seem to know it all there is no need for me to continue.

Just because you only have a FL die doesn't mean that you can't neck size. Just adjust the die properly.
In the end you got 6 firings out of a long, tapered case tht you FL sized, unnecessarily, 3 times. That's not terrible.
No, I didn't expect too much from the cheapest brass Cabelas had to offer. I'll start another thread about F/L vs collet N/S for info sake.
