Colt Canada British SF IUR Uppers

I'd love to have a shorter upper but either way I add it up one of these uppers will cost me $1500 after I sell the BCG and ch handle. Either I buy a full MRR and try to sell the lower and BCG or buy this upper and sell the BCG. If I sold my IUR it would still cost me $900 to go from a 15.7" upper to a 10".
When the IURs first came out they were $995. Why are these priced $700+ more?

I wonder if they'll pull the same crap as before saying how limited these are...lol..

Well there is a set supply going to the UK, already made, waiting to ship in 2017.

These have been pulled from that shipment. Colt Canada is resupplying the shipment to make up for what is being taken off it.

Once it ships, supply will be no more for this particular lot / type.

Could they make more? Sure. Will they? Not with the MRR being their go to now.

Any idea what the weight difference would be between a 10.5" IUR and the 11 " MRR?

Having held an MRR and a Danish iur with a 10 inch barrel installed in it... the weight difference is noticeable. The mrr is much lighter. Sadly I don't know the numbers. Just going by feel.

I don't see there being much weight different between Danish to British IUR for 15.7 to 15.7.

I'm looking at the calendar...3 quarters down, 1 to go. CC is getting pretty creative in their quest to make bonus.

I may be way off base here but I can't help but think sales of this offering (and the MRR for that matter) will be softer than CC and O'Dell expect...I can't help but picture a bunch of dudes sitting around a table 3 months from now saying, "WTF? Last year everything we offered civies was gobbled up - jebus they even fought over those old green hand guards and stocks that Bob wanted to throw in the recycle bin!"

Civilian AR sales are a funny animal and my hope is that CC doesn't get discouraged before they figure it out.

It is inevitable. The more product and variations of product you bring to market over time, the less each one of the products gets in market share. The newness wears off.

When Colt Canada opened up the market, there was an air of unicorn to what they had. The sa15.7 and sa20 line were limited to 1000 guns. Then the Danish iur hit and they too were limited but not everyone's cup of tea. Some of the market was happy enough to get an sa and that was that. Others wanted an iur and lower to go with it. And so on. More product, more options.

Now there are all sorts of CC in varying amounts to choose from. Still used sa, Danish stuff on the market. Now mrr coming in with apparently an unlimited supply. And now these British uppers.

If the British uppers had come first, with no other colt canada product possibly comin out, they would sell like hot cakes because of the unicorn status.

Do the British iur uppers have a bit of that status? Sure. For the CC collector or afficienado. But at the price I don't think the larger market will bear it. It's a unique opportunity. But not everyone can or wants to jump on unique.
